I like the three-dimensional-ness of the eyes and lips in that first one. Lovely lighting.

Welcome to CA!
You already have a lot of basic stuff down and I really like how clean and sophisticated your rendering is.
The poses are a little stiff and the colors lack depth but overall you're off to a good start
Keep up the good work!
@Xelar
Thanks for mentioning that, I had my colour depth in mind when continuing this piece. I think for poses I'll have to study more.
update:
hey,
nice light in the last peace...
looking forward to see next work...
Wow great start to your SB! Loving the clean bold colours. That worms head doesn't quite look at the right angle for that tea pot to stand on though. But I'm just being picky![]()
You're an amazing artist, Melon, I look up to you a lot, keep it up.
I think we already told you the hands look weird on that last one. Especially the second from left to right, that wrist is too fat. But it's a fine piece with good potential.
@Molina: Thanks for the kind words! Yeah you told be about the arms and hands on irc a while ago, I'm working on fixing it. I want to add more detail as well.
This started off as one figure but, quickly became 2 then 3 then 4. Making this one up as I go along.
Cool stuff man
Hey, just wanted to say I like your work.
Immoral Cintiq's Sketchbook
"Society will DRAW a circle that shuts me out, but my superior thoughts will DRAW me in." -Marva Collins
"Character is what you know you are not what others think you are." -Marva Collins
looks great, would like to see some progress stuff![]()
This looks really damn impressive, your command of form combined with colour means that your pieces really jump out. It's a nice contrast to drab brown and grey, let me tell you! I reckon that that skill would be even more powerfully employed in working with environments and landscapes. Take a look at Glen Vilppu's series on landscape drawing if you can get your hands on it - lots of nice information on thumbnails and composition of pieces.
Also, for that (self ?) portrait of that gal with the tablet, watch the fingers on the hand with the pen - looks a little distorted, but I still like her face and how much it jumps out at me.
Good luck!
xArtKingx, Immortal Cintiq - Thanks!
Duplicitious - Thanks, most of my progress shots a pretty bad though, the process of painting for me is still constantly correcting mistakes I'm making. Trying to work on making less of them in the first place.
ATP - I haven't really paid too much attention to landscapes, Theres still so much I need to learn about human expression and anatomy! Thanks for the crits as well, its not a self portrait though, the idea came about from old food and beer packaging.
Some work I did for CHoW #294 and process for 2 pieces.

Great work here Melon! Let's see more!
On post 6, I think you might want to tweak her leg a bit (shift it more towards the right, but only a wee bit). It's nit-picky but adjusting it would make her stance feel more natural and grounded. Right now she looks like could fall over (to her right). Perhaps you want to keep that in there since it adds an element of danger/suspense, "oh no, she might fall over and get caught by the hands. ahhh!" It's up to you.
The woman with the tea cup sitting on the snake-worm thing, I like the idea a lot but the image feels like its missing something. I think if you added an awesomely design "throne" of sorts in there it would be nice and giving the snake-worm thing texture on its skin would help a lot to give the piece greater visual interest. Throwing some cool abstract patterns on its skin (maybe wicked colors too) would be awesome to see too.
All in all, great stuff here man. You're a good artist...like I mentioned before, let's see more of your stuff!
Solid concept design, high quality rendering. I still don't like the clouds and I think you could've used a circle selection to define the edge of the planet and make it perfectly round, but these are small details in a (great) big picture.
Whoa very nice sktchbook!Nice start, love the clean rendering and the big snake pic is awesome!Post more
Indeed, I have to practice more environments, the clouds weren't great, you been entering EOW?
This is something I did for Chow 295 I ran out of time though, I would have liked to tidy it up a bit more, flesh out the body in the background and add some more detail. Liking taking part in CHoW though.
Impressive, this last work shows your ability to do different things, not just pin-up women. There's still a silhouette issue, I think: like in the teacup in the green hair woman painting, the knife in the one above is also inside the silhouette.
I really like the quality of the rendering and the lighting in your pieces. It's great to see the process for your paintings. I'd love to see more WIPs!

Oh my, interesting concept! Honestly, I need to be participating in those myself. They seem like a lot of fun.
Really great digital work in here, looks great. Keep it up!
Small update one finished work and one work in progress.
nice first page to your sb! looking forward to more work!
nice, nice, lovely stuff in here.
I love the colors you use, and how vibrant the portraits are at the top.
All the people sort of feel like WWII war poster models.
Very, very nice!
@Taroan, greymatter, kevin_
