Well, this is an idea suggestion, but not for a topic. I just tried my first ever few enviro's and im somewhat discouraged by the results. I looked for tutorials and whatever on the net. I found a few but for practise all they can do is suggest landscapes from ref and speedpaints. I wqnt to try and go ahead and practice those, but what i really miss is a place to post and discuss these with others. So, what I would really like is a feedback weekly activity thing, a bit like spartan camp, but with enviro's.
any chance of getting that?
Warning, I draw babiez
I can also host something like that but wouldn't really know where to start. Is there someone in the EOW ranks who'd like to volunteer for something like this? Someone more involved in the industry who knows what areas need the most practice, like the mentor program on CA.org but more targetted towards the environmental aspect of art. I haven't been in that section much on this site but I'll check it out and get back to you through PM. As of right now, I'm sticking to just the EOW activity but I'd be more than happy to advertise it every time a new topic goes up if you guys wanted to start your own spartan camps for improving your enviros.

@incinerated, thanks for the link. the class is ended, but there do seem to be some other people hosting stuff. I could try and get a place there. im also getting an amazing lot of help in the eow thread itself, which is wonderfull.
@Vulgar- well, if you'd host something like that I'd love to join. but I bet its a lot of work. anyway, it's an idea. me, I'm getting a lot out of this activity already!

Don't know if this has been suggested before, but I think it would be great to let people get inspired by a musical piece and find out what they create from it. Of course it doesn't need to be classical music but I think that would lend itself the best.

I find it interesting to think about futuristic materials that are hybrids of things we might know today and what a 100,000 AD civilization might be able to construct out of such material.
Inside a Roman Emperor's deepest room...
The Land of Always Winter.
An attack on a village by the Others/white walkers.

I had an idea today for this that I really wanted to see, stemming from this quote:
"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic." Arthur C. Clarke
I want to see an interpretation of a civilization, human or not, where this has become the case, where the technology is so advanced that it looks like magic by our standards of understanding of technology. This is a topic approachable from both a sci-fi and high-fantasy perspective.
I'd title this in two words "Fantastical future."
Greebly world.
Greebles are leftovers of technology. The forgotten bits that fall out of your stereo when you play it to loud. Make a town, mini city under the bed, planet or whatever location, just make it out of leftover tech.
