love your sketches!! And your digital works are also very impressing and very nice designed.
I'm really fascinated by the Pilgrim. But I'm missing some more interesting values here. with that I mean is a stronger differences between light and shadows; maybe more contrast. but it's already an amazing work the way it is.

I also love your sketches! They have a Frazetta vibe in my opinion, which is what I wanna incorporate in my own stuff as soon as I master some anatomy.
Your imagination is top notch as well, from what I saw in this sketchbook you're very close to becoming a great artist!
I'll subscribe because this is such a quality sketchbook it would be a shame to not see your updates.

    sin eater: Thanks.
Lux_Aeterna: I'll see what I can still do with it.
Kriss_Kringle: Frazetta? I am humbled. I'd love to try and incorporate the deep inky shadows of his style into my own works.

    Thanks for stopping by guys.
    Drawing this girl is refreshing.
    Thanks for looking.

Hahaha, that's great. I love how the Soviet Star is on her undies.

I'm actually liking that you tend to use a pretty muted to chromatic gray color scheme usually. It actually brings them more to life (since life tends to have that quality of color).

I know this is just a sketch so far, but it has definite interesting prospects. Keep up the good work sir, can't wait to see it more refined.

Mat Kaminski: Thanks. I'm very fond of more muted, earthly palettes. I'm also quite certain that I haven't just fully discovered how to work with colour.
    Black Spot: Thank you.
Velocity Kendall: Thank you! It is a pleasure to have you visiting, love your stuff.

Okay, a girl, a wired skeleton and a selection of croquis.
    Thanks for looking.

The skeleton looks like it's inspired by the space jockey from Alien and the upcoming Prometheus.

So, "Russian babe with gun" is coming along nicely. I like the subtle values and color. Maybe let a little more saturation come through in the light areas? Also the cast shadow seems to imply that she is leaning against a wall- maybe include some minimal background texture or architectural element that gives a sense of perspective/ environment.
Cool sketch of the corpse hooked into that crazy machine throne.. planning on doing anything else with it? I like how it's overloaded with detail. It might be nice to drop some background stuff in the white space that is much darker or lighter overall and low contrast. Just some ideas.

Great improvement! Thanks for the inspiration

Mat Kaminski: Thanks. The work might receive some actual use once I've cleaned it up.
    Kriss_Kringle: Hehe, indeed.
ChromaticCodex: Thanks for the crit! I'll be sure to address these things once I get back to working on the chick. As for the skeleton I'm polishing it up but keeping it very minimal.

I've been terribly busy with things and haven't had as much time for drawing as I'd like. Here's something to relax abit as well as something I've wanted to do for a long while. I've always liked the concept of a grunt fighting for his life during an alien invasion.
    Thanks for looking.

hey mate, awesome sketches and new stuff. Your rendering improved very much, i enjoy the edge play you include now.Maybe that female is missing some strong cast shadows but its your lightning setting that probably doesnt include a strong lightsource. The wired skeleton sketch is awesome!!!
    keep up the great work

kingkostas: Thank you, Kostas. It is good to have you returning back to the game. I'll work on the girl's lighting though I want it to look a bit hazy, like some cheesy old pinup.
    Parsakoira: Yush!

For now I am done with the Pilgrim piece. There are some issues with the range of values I use aswell as general lightsources and composition that I will have to address but I save that for another work.
    Something from my sketchbook aswell.
    Thanks for looking.

A big pleasure to get a piece of the post apocalyptic attitude and feeling
in your work. You know that my favorite is that soviet female with
her peach almost visible. Star above it. 74th time I think I will repeat
that I like your drawing/painting subjects. If you can do anything to
improve the reality and the likeness of the whole thing, is to train
doing dynamic figures, and to take more in consideration the length
of the human limbs. Of course, I am not talking about the exaggerated
drawings, cause they actually have different rules. The pig came out
sexy in the end, and it will be even better if you keep working on it,
cause it's still I wip if I understand right. We should make a new Doom
marine piece together. That would be just great, you do the pencil
base, and I try to continue digitally, or vice versa.

Wow Rotor, haven't looked over your sketchbook properly before but you've really come a long way since the first few pages, a real inspiration.
Those sketches of technology mixed with skeletons are excellent and your colouring is vastly improving, I'm very jealous.
Can't really give any crit, you've just really inspired me to work on my anatomy more, thanks.

LtPlissken: I'm glad to see you posting again. A collaboration sounds very tempting, let's keep that in mind.
Porg: Thank you for the kind words, and I'm always glad if I can inspire someone.

Here's some frames off my second year traditional animation that we have been working on.
As we have certain agreements with our school I am not sure if I can upload it somewhere, not right after it's finished at least.
    Thanks for looking.

Man, going through your sketchbook, I never would have guessed that the artist from the first 3 pages was the artist from the last 3 pages. Pat yourself on the back, that's some serious progress.
