Hi there, I've started working on cast drawings using the sight size approach and was wondering if anyone could give me some advice as to what are the best types of paper and charcoal to use? I am currently using quite a deeply ridged Ingres paper, and cheap Coates charcoal, but am starting to think I should maybe be using a smoother paper and shelling out for better quality charcoal. Would love to hear what other people use and what they the advantages being.
