Hey folks!

So, I started on a 3D blockout, thinking "oh I'll block in the basic perspective and then switch into Photoshop," but it kinda got to the point where it's probably gonna be easier and faster for me to do the rest of the set dressing and lighting in 3D.

I know EOW is more 2D based, but hopefully you don't mind if I keep posting my WIPs here . I'm not sure I feel like unwrapping and texturing the whole scene, so I'm thinking most of the final details will be in Photoshop.

Anyway, I'm gonna try to do a Cirque du Soleil style suspended acrobatic act out in the dome area to bring some titties into the fold, and I suppose I'll probably need a topless alien cocktail waitress up on the balcony to help establish the titty bar atmosphere . Haven't completely settled on the composition yet, but I think I wanna keep the high perspective. The two spotlights are placeholders, but I do wanna try to bring some smoky volumetric stuff into the image.

coool_brain: add more strippers, also perspective is great, and the color is good maybe have a back light behind the stripers shining thru so you wont have to detail the strippers to much

Incinerated: Brilliant alien strippers there - really makes use of the brief. Not sure about the composition overall, but as you said, it's just rough.

Doublethink: Looks good! Though, the anatomy is a bit confusing. Is she reaching out to take a tip? Maybe look at some ref for the foreshortening there. Fun image though

elephant's stroke: Cool sketch, definitely has potential. Maybe work on the lighting to add more emphasis to the focal point, which isn't clear as yet (though I'm guessing it's the podium stripper).

Jussslic: Sweet model, I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out as a painting. I can imagine it looking really good with crowds on the balcony etc, which no doubt you intend to do anyway. Perhaps the podium is a little too central - shifting it to one side or another might be interesting.

coool_brain: I'm liking the composition. Like you said, some more sci-fi elements would be cool, as well as some other colours.

Adrian_Nagorski: Again, sweet alien designs. A clear focal point would help the composition, I feel.

It's a holographic strip bar, with life-size dancers, as well as individual table-top ones. I should probably make some of the dancers more alien... eeeeh.

@maxdav, thanks for the feedback. And your concept is looking amazing, has a lot of vibre.If you are going to refine it later, you might want to keep the energy it has now.
@android, very funny approach and well done.
@cool brain, i like a lot the atmosphere you have there with that color scheme and the low camera, maybe one or two more strippers could work fine.

Was thinking of doing the EoW as I could use some environment portfolio work, but what a topic haha.. Had to do it anyway! Feel I cheaped out, didn't make it look very Celestial so slapped on a sign.. and added robots.. haha.. oh well.

I am going for the literal 'titty bar', I wanted to create a speedpainting just for the joke of the literal-concept but I'm doing clean shit again... So I think I'll 'finish' this one and drop it into the poll.
