Rem, you are right about that, if the vanishing point and horizon are above page, you are looking at something from the birds eye view and if its reversed, then it's warms eye view. Also, I like both of your latest designs. When it comes to the last, maybe it's the curvature of the paper that makes your horizontal lines curve down?

    deyung: I like your 1 and 9.

Sorry guys, for some reason, I'm not getting email notifications anymore. I get one once in a blue moon so that's why I've been replying slow.

I like this, is it RE 4 inspired? You do have some problems with your perspective when it comes to boxes and the gun on the counter. I would make it more action by making him fire and zombie at the door getting shot. It's kind of static now.

This is actually from resident evil 2, yes im aware of a major screw up with the gun on the counter, the boxes are fine though, i used a 1 point perspective convination to draw a couple of them, maybe thats why they might look weird to you, a firing would've been more interesting yes, but i didnt wanna make my life harder.

post an image with all your perspective lines. the reason boxes are not correct to me is because the bottom line doesn't go in the same angle direction as the counter so it looks tipped or something is underneath them putting them off balance.

Also, did you use images as a reference for human anatomy? If you go out of your comfort zone, that is the only way that you will grow and get better. Nice job so far.

If you have such a strong light like that, you need to have a strong shadow below the zombies and that person lying dead. Also, you need strong shadows on those zombies and the body. Leon's highlights are off I believe, they should fall that much on his shoulders or his hair. For the second, add the light glow.

cool stuff, you have to work on the human anatomy. Nice perspective stuff, you do have some mistakes like on the space craft. The propeller thing on top is leaning a bit toward the viewer while the rest is leaning away. The radiator thing at the bottom of the space craft is a little off and I would straighten up the walls on the buildings especially that tall building behind the space craft, seems as if it's about to fall inward. The wall that sticks out that's touching the guy's right hand that's located at the far right, shouldn't be positioned like that. We shouldn't see the corner, only the front view and a bit side view to the right.

Yea i have to improve my figures in my pieces, but its really hard when you work on that small of a figure, i feel like i cant do anything on a 1.8 " figure. u.u, and yes you are right about the wall that stick out near the guy's right hand, its screwed, :/

Thank you, you're doing good with perspective. That guy at the counter, should be leaning a bit over, the way you drew it, seems as he's attached to the counter. That's a small thing though.

Hello, I found this thread recently and would like to join because my environments could use some help. See people do a lot of thumbsnails which I'll do in the future. I did this one a little while ago, think maybe the field of view is too narrow among other things, any other thoughts? thanks.

Welcome, nice light and a nice sketch. What you could do now is start refining and creating detail, breaking down the shapes, etc. It is a tight image but you left the left side open indicating that there is a bigger world out there. I would add a bit of white fluffy clouds and perhaps change the color of sky into more blue. Usually when you see beach images, they have those darker blue skies. Not sure if you used ref for this one or not.

Alright, thanks for the feed back Damjan. Yeah, sometimes I have trouble picking out the right colors, have been working in BW for a long time... This one was mostly from imagination, probably won't finish it up though since it was speed paint and I need more practice coming up with environments.

    Hey Ethmro,

Nice work. You seem to be starting to break up details on the rocks and thinking about how the water would react with the rocks in the environment. Cool start ! Some things to consider would be a primary focal point and weight distribution. It feels like all the objects in your image have an equal weight. Try varying the size of the rocks and the land behind it. This will help the image look a bit more Dynamic.

Had some time, so I made some thumbs. Didn't quite render out the buildings enough, but I was spending too much time on each one. Was going to put a giant robo in the bg of the top right one too i think. In indoor lighting situations is closer lighter or darker? Wasn't quite sure like in the bottom one (supposed to be a subway stop) I think I like the top left one the best, basic composition is taken from a photo though.

hi everyone! I've beenwatching this thread for a while and I was hoping guys could help me.
this piece im showing is still in the thumbs phase, but I find myself getting a bit far in trying to get all the elements working together.
-a mountain in the distance, somehow having a connection to the foreground that is either on a similar mount or on the foothills of the same.
-some pillars showing distance and the 'greek' setting. possibly a gymnasium setting for the combatants
-a pegasus rider and a god figure in mock battle.
    -some human onlookers.

I dunno, maybe thats too much already?

    haha, anyway, it seems I can just show and tell in this thread; hope I didnt presume too much and should have enlisted somewhere else first. I would really appreciate any feedback;
I know I still have a lot to learn when it comes to enviro, but I hope I at least got the perspective in order.
    Warning, I draw babiez
