    Cow Nats Doodles

Phew... well.. hello everyone, i guess? :3
Okay it feels really weird that i am finally writing something and making a sketchbook here..
As you can see, i have been around for a while.. But i never actually participated in this forums life. I just stalk around here silently from time to time.. But.. Lets change that!

Okay so what can i tell you about myself. My name is Nat (Natalia). I was born in Russia but moved to Germany when i was 13. I currently live in Munich. I ve been drawing since i was little but its been only a couple of years ago where i started to discover painting and also started to draw more seriously hoping to do it for a living someday. I am currently studying graphic design. But i really want to tilt more towards illustration. My biggest childhood dream was to someday work as an artist at Walt Disney Studios! *_*

So why am i here? I decided to practice more.. Try to develop a style.. And to actually upload all that stuff here for people to troll ;P Also, to hopefully make some awesome artist friends on the interwebs! So wanna be my friend??? OOOH COMEON!

Okay i think thats enough text now (I doubt anyone will read it anyway so..)
Here are some still lifes and animal sketches i did recently! The still lifes are from life, the animals are prom photos. Some imaginative animals will follow soon...

    See you around guys... *___*v
    Puh. I can't believe i did this..

    Hello and welcome!

Beautiful color studies! You're ahead of me so I can't think of any crits for now. Looking forward to seeing more.

I'm also curious about your process of work and where have you learned your skills. From your graphic design course? From books?

    Welcome Natalia!
The only crit so far would be to try and add sharpness to your studies seeing that they are blurry. Be confident, add those details that make the image pop and believable
I've also just started my own sketchbook so we're kinda in the same boat, hehe
Anyway, I've subscribed to your sketchbook now so I'll be trolling around from now on (only creative/productive crits from me, don't worry)

    Cheers

the point you made to draw those lizard studies on that paper texture was really smart. Its always good practice to throw in unlikely reference and base a design of that, bound to form something new! will be back to check out the dragons!!

Really nice studies in here so far! I especially like the still lifes. It'd be great to see some imaginative works from you, too--don't forget to make the studies applicable to something you want to do with them!

@ Amarok Thank you! Here comes imaginative stuff!

@ Pluscandy Thanks! Yay for progress!

Okay, so for those who wanted dragons - here are two i did! Both are from imagination.
Well these are more dragon banners. Its a commissioned work, done for a fantasy facebook game I really struggled a lot with these, especially with the blue one.. :/ I hope one day ill be able to do better dragons..
    Critiques always welcome!

Some great stuff here: clarity of tone, edge control, confident pencils. A good sense of character in your animal sketches too, both the cartoony and realistic kinds. You're laying down some strong foundations, in terms of technique.

Nice works! I especially like your still lifes and your use of color in them. There seem to be some problems with perspective of the ellipses in some of those, but other than that they're very good.

    Good job, keep working!

Great sketchbook! I love the studies from life - my only crit is I think you could push the color saturation a little to breathe a little more like into them. Some of them, especially the last one, feel a little dull in terms of color. Also, I just love the sketches from the zoo in post #5, especially the deer. Keep up the good work!
