Hey Al....good to see that you finally did get some comments, and some good ones as well. Your work is very good....I believe that when the untrained does great work it is more pure and untainted by the Ivy Towers of education. Even though its subject matter is something that is iconic, it still shows the raw talent. { I praise the untrained because I am also untrained, but I never let it even slow me down. I have taught myself to play six musical instruments, taught myself to paint and sculpt, and build.} It says more to me when someone does something just because they wanted to. I salute you.

Thanks. All it takes is observation and patience to do what I do, and the ability to translate what you see to the clay as best you can.

Thank you, I really appreciate that. I would like to create some *real* art one day, but I'm so caught up in iconic imagery, that to be able to recreate it in some form makes me feel a part of it.... and I like that feeling, and knowing that other fans feel something when they look at the work. If I was trained though, I would probably be able to sculpt faster lol

Haha, I hear you. What I mean is, something completely designed by me, rather than based on someone else's work. It would still be the kind of thing that I sculpt now though.

I've not been sculpting much for a past month or so, but managed to get some time on old Arnold. I still have some finishing of the hair and the t-shirt and some touching up here and there. I've made the jaw piston with some aluminium tubing, but I don't know if I'll stay with that. Hope you like

I use paper embossing stylus' they are often double ended and the metal tips are made in various sized balls.

I've worked a little on Arnie (not done for months). I've started designing a base around the style of the endoskeleton, and I've replaced the jaw piston with styrene instead of aluminium. Just a little more work on the hair and the supporting post and I think he's ready for the oven.

This is excellent work. I didn't think lightning could strike twice but clearly it has. Amazing work. Please post details about where casts are available!

Magnificent! It's been worth the wait What about the styrene parts in the jaw? Are you gonna remove them before baking? Maybe mold them separately?

Managed to get him baked last night and was finally able to slot him into the base and see how it all looks. Hope you like it.

Made the moulds over the weekend and got the first castings out tonight. I had a very slight mould misalignment on the right hand side but on the whole I'm pretty pleased with how it's turned out.

Incredible work! You really did a great job capturing Arnold's look from the first film. Very cool to see this from start to finish.
