i really should do more of these, quick and satisfying like a dirty old bigmac.
if you got any critique shoot away I'm open to all critique, your opinion is respected even though i may not agree with it.
Not sure yet what you are capable of. So I just shut my critique thoughts and say: welcome. =)
thanks man, you got awesome paintings your thoughts/critiques would me much appreciated as I'm still figuring things out with color and composition.
some old life drawings, need to draw more naked peoplez -_-.
Really like the environments for the Fox.
Life drawings look great, my favorites are the girl laying on her side and the guy resting on the box. Strong form, rhythm, foreshortening. One question, do you sometimes use you shadow shape indications for the eyes and eye sockets?

thanks dude and yes if there is enough time i try to show the plains on the side of the head, cheeks and the eye socket area.
original plan was to post here every day and i must say i sliped, here is a new one did took about 30-45 min.
Keeping going man, a day missed here or there is no big deal.
Like the direction of the painting, really cool to see what you are doing with colour theory. All of your latest paintings especially but also the ones in school had nice choices for palettes.

few bots, i was tried going all the way from a sillouete to a color sketch; kinda of a fail but im sure the next try will go better, i might even touch up the red one a bit more and try to go for the reflective car car surface look. any pointers is welcomed/ apperciated.

Looking good man. Really like the pyramidal shaped one. Next time you are doing silhouettes try using the lasso tool, it's a fun way to sketch shapes quickly and like markers it can be somewhat unpredictable, great for accidents but always clean.

this is the latest of my speed paintings. took about 20 min i was trying to painting using a silloute that i created with the lasso tool. feels like I've nailed down a working process it makes things faster and less layers to deal with

Kinda frustrated by this one, gonna move on, about 6 hours at this point and i think I'm better of starting a new one :/. any one viewing this if u have suggestion or pointer please share I needs help with making metal look more textured.
My favorite is the design on the right. Do you have some reference photos for the type of painted metal you want?
Say this was car paint. Almost think of painting reflections onto the surface as though the object was covered in a mirror. It's one of those easier said than done things, especially for curved surfaces but try to find some reference for reflections on similarly shaped forms to see how they are distorted. Maybe paint those as a seperate pass. Most non-metal types of materials are most reflective on glancing angles, so any sky might create a pretty strong rim reflection on nearly perpendicular planes to our line of sight.
As far as texturing the surface any painted reflective pass could be combined with a metal pass, run through a layer mask to add areas of worn metal, chips, scratches, or bubbles in the paint. Perhaps welds around certain joints or in places where two plates are joined together.
Think of additional passes that might also have additional wearing of their own (scratches or smears within patches of dust, grease, etc),
-Dust
-Dirt
-Grease (drips, smears around hydraulic joints)
-Burns

great roughs man, would love to see what you will do with the teddy bear in a scenario as a final
keep posting
Cool robot. As it's something mechanical try to get in harder edges to define the armor plating abit more.
Looking forward to see more though.![]()
Thugs with Dirty mugs. except for the guy with a bear on his shoulder he supose to be part some one, i cant remeber the name( He is the guy from that movie called gray.)
Dude great stuff, would love to see one painted as a full body character. The bear on shoulder one works very well and the one with the evil grin. Maybe a cast of forest bandits?

What I like most in your sketchbook is probably your nude figures, they have nice chubby curves, even if they don't have a chubby body. Your lines evoke some sort of roundy fleshyness. You know. Oh, I'm so clumsy with english. Also, I don't like coffee - I guess for you, as an animator, coffee is kind of compulsory. Also, nice concept in first post !
Sketchbook, with apes, insects and fallen cities.
Sketchlog, more or less a portfolio.

Travis Smith- thanks dude that's the plan i gotta find a story for them, it helps with customs and unity of the design package but there will be a clothed painting here very soon.
Mawh - Thanks for your kind words, the flesh like quality comes from thinking around the form and coffee is indeed a friend of us night dwellers.
if this sketchbook was starving before its hooked up to life support now. any ways ;/ i laughed a little when i was painting this one, its supposed to be a chupacabra and his new friend/victim depending on how you see it; I like to think they would get along after the lamb gets passed the initial shock.

Sick man, post more of these asap. One suggestion, the shadows on the shins are looking nearly black in some areas, with it so close to the ground some bounce light might fill that in a bit.

a couple of drawings the riot police piece is a value sketch for a photo.
Love then latest paintings. The value study works really well, clear action and pleasing to look at. The blue faced scarecrow-like character is one of my favourites so far. Cool design, good colours, and well painted. Always impressed with how well your characters occupy space.
