This looks interesting. The deadline is good for me since I want to enter another (has nothing to do with ConceptArt.org Forums) competition that finishes on May 1st!

edit you just posted while i posted.....this is for the post #10:

@Pixeltuner, great! if you don´t mind an opinion, i think the brushstroke feeling in the thumbnails were very appealing but is lost in the more polished version. Mostly the hard and very defined edges of the cilindrical plates of the structure of the front are looking too much controled and unnatural.
Booton line, and imo, if you follow the path of the brushstroke feeling with insinuations of stuff instead of very controled definitions of stuff, you will do even better than now. Is not like you can´t define anything either...i hope i´m making some kind of sense here

In this new one is looking more natural but composition and depth wise, the first one is better imo.
    Anyway, inspiring stuff!

i dont know if pixeltuner uses this method but in this thread sparth describes an interesting workflow for making quick composition thumbnails using the custom shape tool in photoshop.

    maybe it can help you

Coool brain, ashess: I can make a short tutorial on that. I actually started a livestream channel today, but Procaster crashes on me so I need to fix that first but then I can do a short video on that if you guys like.

Daflom: I don't do it with custom shapes, haven't even used it but I'll check it out, looks interesting

EDIT: I checked out Sparth's method and it's a bit more structured then what I do and there's a bit more work in creating the shapes I think. There's a bit more of a random element in what I do at first

    Quick sketch.

I've never done anything underwater so this looks kinda bad. I'm not really sure how to make the colours work, I'll probably try to fix these a bit more and then go for a totally new piece when I figure out them a bit more. I kinda want to do an interior though, this looks so... normal.

Ok guys here's the thumbnail tutorial vid, it's actuallly my first one ever so be gentle. My computer had a bit of a problem with capturing the screen being a bit slow while painting but I hope you get something out of it.

And if you like it, by all means share and spread the word.

    It's in two parts:

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKTLn...73zs-0LwUL1Jk=

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=odCGW...xBi1s4Rw_KHmM=

EDIT: And here's the image from the tutorial, it's a bit small at times on the vid.
