Help Plz IT's A PRESENT!

Ullu! I really need som help...
My god-mother is turning 65 and I wanted to draw her somthing for her big birthday, but Im half way trought, and I feel like it's just not cutting it, I mean, well I just start losing faith in it... Im at a loss, the painting just looks so confussing if there anyone out there with any tips or ideas I would be so Happy to hear them! Pretty plz! < 3

(btw if you wonder about the tail, is because she loves trolles (the swedish/norwegian ones) so i was trying to mak her a littel bit trollish)

I think it looks nice. I have some suggestions tho:

The sig is distracting.

The dog doesnt appear to be on the same axis as the woman--he looks higher on the ground plane--therefore further away, know what I mean? I guess he is on a hill, but I don't see a hill. And make sure the dog looks friendly--not like its barking at her. Unless that what her dog does lol.

Other than that, it just needs cleaned up. Are you going to keep the lines?

yeah im gonna try makin the dog look friendlyer i havent worked so much on her yet so that is to come, i am gonna try to get rid of as many lines as possibel, oh and the signature is not gonna be there in the finished pic

and yes, Parental figures, does in general, love home-made gifts, not all of them thought, my mom hated my drawings X)

It could help if you angled the dog's head differently, right now when he's looking straight to the side it flattens the image because the viewer thinks the dogs is looking at the woman, when he's looking past her. Like, you could try making the dog actually look at the woman.

Yeah im thinking now to make the dog angeled more into the picture (whit the butt too the viewer,) looking back at her, like the dog is going in to the distant or eager "to get on with the walk" ...how about that?

Haven't had time to do so much more today but re did the dog...is it more understandable now?

The pink of the face feels a bit too pink compared to the rest of the picture. It draws you attention to the face (and that nice) bit it still a bit to pink in my opinion. I would experiment with getting more of pink/red into the picture, or to make the face a little bit less pink.

Oh. The rest of the color scale is beautiful.

I totally agree with w176 about the colors.
The changes on the dog and the tree (I LOVE that tree) are great, it will be a fine pic I think

w176; I've tried to take the pink down and to put it subptly in other places in the pic, but maybe thats not enoughf? more? less?

gahh..this is taking ages..but mostly 'cus i never have time to sit down and finish it, but i am sooooon..X) but i really need some crit, i don't know how it looks on your screens 'cus mine ie a bit of in color and contrast..does it look ok? and what would you put more effort in, i wanna be done and im gonna fix the hands the neckless, work on the face a bitt on the dog and well a bit overall, but i might have missed somthing that looks lik it really needs attention, ive become very blind at this point..:/ any feedback would save my day! (no pressure )
