    Graphic novel concept art

Hey all, here's a collection of conceptual art for a developing graphic novel project I'm working on. The story is set in the distant post-apocalypic future, in an underground city called Shambala. First up is the main character Remus, a miner by trade here sporting a sonic mining pistol. Next, is The Soldier, a crotchety and senile old immortal thousands of years old. Uses his long coat of hair for varying purposes in his adventures with Remus. Last, is a mining bird, a popular pet among the people that mine the great pit. Outfitted with a wide reciever to communicate with its' master as well as a light to shine those dark corners while mining. Comments and feedback is welcome and appreciated. More to come soon.

Two more concepts, the first is one of the other main characters, The Soldier - a cranky coot of an old man who also happens to be immortal. Uses his long coat of hair for varying purposes on his adventures with Remus. Second is a mining bird, a popular pet among miners in the underground city of Shambala.

    Look up DuckMan.

Your art fits that style of art.
"Everything must serve the idea. The means used to convey the idea should be the simplest and clear. Just what is required. No extra images. To me this is a universal principle of art. Saying as much as possible with a minimum of means."

Really? I don't see much of a connection. I tend to get that my work resembles more Ahhhh! Real Monsters or the Os Gemos street art duo. Thanks for the input though.

A few more pieces of concept art. The first is a cross section of Shambala, a vertical pit that rises higher and higher everyday as the people continue their dig to the surface after years of living underground. Buildings and tunnels branch out from the great pit, ranging from holo parks to makeshift farms and more. Next are filter bots - small, crab-sized robots that cling to the walls of the great pit, cleaning the air of dust and harmful particles. Last is a mining bot. This robot uses its' many retractable arms to clear the work area of boulders and debris while doubling as a mobile tool box (housed in the compartment above its' head) for miners.
