Great designs! Have you ever created complete environments in that style? Perhaps some retro-future interior, or some outdoor scene with vehicles/background buildings. Or you're more interested in working with separate objects?![]()

outstanding, actually I have nothing more than this word, after lurking this thread.
I wish, a day, you will make a video tutorial with a simple object in sketchup and the process in vray (maybe not a timelapseas seen on tube) to let improve noobs like me.
thanks for sharing, keep on it![]()

I enjoy your work.
love al this stuff, im trying to get into sketchup, but want to first nail all the 2d principles first. cheers for the videos, there really great!
I can't begin to understand the amount of time that goes in to creating this art. Just the preliminary Sketchup work must take a long time, never mind the rendering and finish work.
How can you improve what already is so good?
Excellent art!
What nice car design this is ! I like this car designs.

Hey man, did you play Flashback when you were a kid?
Would love to see game made in your style, with this kind of gameplay

Why didn't see this thread earlier?? Fcking awesome work in here!
It somehow reminds me of borderlands, you should've done the concept art/design of the game.. it would have been 10x better (:
A well deserved 5 star rating!
Thats amazing.

Keep these gems coming! thanks!
Thank you very much for sharing your awesome work.
I am trying to follow your steps, I did a model of an android, modeled in white the whole object, then tried to put the lines from the Google Sketchup orignal model by exporting the 2D art, but I cant get that the two models match exactly in the perspective, do you have a tip to do this?
BTW its the image in my avatar
Best regards

You export the render at the same aspect ratio dimensions as the workspace you use in Photoshop then its a simple case of overlaying them. Of course you can do more than simply overlay them the more you work with the layers. If you see here in these examples the actual render and then the overlay from SU. THis is in face my main style so great to see others also using it a lot: http://www.behance.net/gallery/F1-2050/5514251, http://www.behance.net/gallery/WIRED...ATIONS/5437675, http://www.behance.net/gallery/MQ-9-REAPER/4871701.
I am not 100% sure but I believe this is similar to ixlrlxi's technique? I know they use Vray while I use THEA, so not sure if VRAY has a cell shade render capability or this is all done PP. I would be interested to know, if its the former I may jump ship to THEA!
Hi Liam! thanks for your response.
Yes the process is similar of what ixlrlxi's is doing, with difference that I am using two models, one, the original Sketchup model, and two a render done in Carrara, I am using this last file for the volume, and the sketchup to add the lines to the model, but I am not getting the exact match, I think I will place based on coordinates in the Sketchup and then use the same position in Carrara, problem here is that when I import in Carrara de SU model it is placed in other position, normally facing back, I am having problems with that.
I appreciate your help and will follow your samples.
Cheers!
Otto
