Sounds interesting, looks like there's a lot of freedom to work with on this one

I might even try this one. I watched a LOT of "support your local sheriff/ gunslinger" growing up...All those hidden guns!
Mine´s Tricky , I wanted to be Spawn Super Saiyan 3...
Ill try to do this even if i dont meet the deadline, seems like one of the most fun topics in a while.
Haha great theme!By the way, Cameli, I love that shark. ^_^
It's a first sketch, the character design gonna change.
I wanted to be a writer and in the same time i wanted to be John Mcclane
(text from Charles Bukowski.)
so yeah, either a ninja or cobra commander![]()

Looks more like Auron than Yojimbo, unless you mean before he was a fayth! still absolutely badass nonetheless
I remembered that I used to think I could control wind. But I wanted to be a vet, mostly.
That dream died shortly after i interned at an emergency vet clinic. Never again. It'd be nice to do a sketch at least
i remember i wanted to be a few things.. i wanted to be Wolverine more than anytihng else, (and still do) haha. but i also really wanted to have powers like Iceman, and also really wished i could breathe underwater too. maybe ill just make a character with all of these abilites ha that would be something.

I wanted to be a archeologist!
I watched so many adventure movies back then
I totally thought archeology was digging up gold statues and valuable bones whiles fighting giant snakes and evil.
I gave up the dream later on when i figured out archeology was a quiet meticulous study of artifacts requiring extensive schooling (and science and math!)
So I think i'll go for the idealized 10 year olds idea of what archeology was, maybe draw myself in some dire straits at a ruin somewhere..
fun topic!
my Sketchbook
Hello! I'm new here.
My question is do the character sheets have to be of the character in the same outfit as in the final picture?
My design is actually 2 dreams, one of being a futuristic motorbike racer like tron or from extreme G3 and the other was to be a cyborg. I'd like to do the final in the full motorbike outfit, and the character sheets in a more normal outfit.
I'll attach a wip soon

When I was younger than 10, I just wanted to be able to fly...like Superman.
![]()
Sean McClain: Indeed, the composition is severly erred. I did a lil' bita croppin' and hopefully improved it
Barefoot / Quasar97: Oh you guysI love the Yojimbo aeon (and Auron while on the subject) in a borderline sexual way, however, naw, guys, YOJIMBO. As in Sanjuro, Kurosawa's calculating badass bodyguard that wanders around taking odd jobs on a whim.
THIS GUY
Also, update!
I always say "Ohh, I just might finish it" but, this time, I ACTUALLY just might finish it.
The other entries are looking great so far! I am very comforted to see that a large amount of us have always dreamed of a profession that required the use of a length of sharp metal or, in in the case of Nicky Beats, requires that your hands are knives. We're all such kindred spirits![]()
Thinking back to the late 70's, early 80's... Star Wars and Indiana Jones, we used to play Star Wars at School and I tended towards Vader with Stormtrooper minions.
I also wanted to be an Astronaut, but ended up an archaeologist (you're right silarvalla).
Anyway, a Sith or adventurer of some sort. Here's a start.
Lol it seems I lacked imagination as a child.. and comic books.
When I was younger I wanted a dog. And I had a dog book from which I used to copy the pictures. One of the pics was a St. Bernard dog with a barrel around its neck and I remember my mum telling me what it was for. From that moment I wanted to be a Mountain Rescuer so I could work with a big fluffy dog lol!

Pretty sure this sums it up... Don't know how the combo will actually look...

Trying to decide which arm pose to use...and I know reference is a must at this point, but I want to at least figure out the pose before I go and shoot myself. (In which I use a camera).

jacobanderson - i like this alot, and i would actually go for an 'in between' of the two you drew. something pushing out, but not too close to his head either. and i liked the hand opened up, the closed fist is done to death on flying poses. i dont think i would clench my fists unless i was flying as fast as i could, and thats not what this pose looks like. but i really like it so far man! nice lighting too!

This is where I am so far. Unless I'm doing a color study, I probably shouldn't go too much further without adequate reference. I think I went halfway between the two arm poses with this. AND I think I should add hair to this guy as well. Even though I'm balding in this time/space continuum, who's to say that I didn't in the one I'm illustrating now?
Besides, If I added hair I can get that cool subsurface scattering of light, which always looks dramatic.
@Nickybeats-
I was aiming for superhero as well, but in between realistic superheroes and way-the-f@*k-overpowered superheroes. I think if the first season of Heroes were on as a kid I would have felt like I was Peter Petrelli...hence the graceful, slowish flight illustration.
@Lt-Action- As much as I kept on trying to see elbows inside the samurai garb, I'm still picturing some massively meaty moobs under there...
Great dynamism in the composition though. With the wind-affected cloth, you've made a static pose into a dynamic one.
@tehmeh- Hah. Hilarious. I had a letter I wrote to myself in ninth grade that we weren't allowed to open till graduation from 12th grade. It said something along the lines of hopefully completing a 5 minute long stick-figure-slash-death-beat-em-up Flash animation (like those over at fluid-anims) Did I? Nope. XD. But it was my senior project in high-school, so I guess that counts.
Oh wow, I got WAY off topic.
Here's my image.

@jacobanderson: I prefer the version in post #53 MUCH more than #55.
It was much more dramatic with the cool foreshortening, I think you have lost that with your update. Also, the face looked nicer, had more mood to it, than the new one cast in shadow.
I personally would like to see the old version again!
Just my two pennies.![]()
I've had time to sleep on it, @LordLouis, and I agree with you. Hrm. I'll have to look at it again after work.
Some really cool ideas going around! man there was so many choices from he-man to a power ranger but i started to paint me as a boxer as I have always loved watching boxing and always wanted to have a go, say the least I actually hate my painting and probably will chuck it soon.
