hey. not much to say. i paint and draw. ill be sure to update as inconsistently as possible. i like it when people critique me.

i use mypaint for rendering and photoshop for adjustments and editing.

Just keep cranking them out. For the face the only thing I can really say is usually the values aren't pure black, in fact they rarely are pure black unless in a very dark setting. But it was speed based and it still feeds the right information.


Still life looks good, though for future ones If your strapped for time I'd suggest an intense one focusing on one object. Really push yourself to see what you normally haven't. That's the point of breakthrough when you can finally just see things you couldn't before because you really observed the color and values. If you can't finish in one sitting come back, in fact it's good to take a break to see things you missed.

J: thanks, i didnt actually use pure black but it is a little dark. thanks for all the advice and encouragement i'll keep that stuff in mind

good work brother. I like the robots and the onion the best, you have a very clean and neat style. My suggestion is perhaps add some textured brushes and get a little loose. But overall keep it up

I really like the "focusing on color" piece, although I'd like to see it with a little more dark values which would push the light from the afterburners. Very nice.
