i find these clan houses to be really interesting:
(short description)
"Built from the 11th to the 20th century in the mountainous areas across Fujian and neighboring provinces, the "Tulou" buildings could house a whole clan. They also served other functions such as defense.
The building usually consists of a rammed earth outer wall and internal wooden framework. "
Article on the buildings
Here's some large photos of them too:

Bussana Vecchia
An old town in the North-West of Italy. Most of it was ruined in an earthquake in the early 20 Century. Then in the sixties it was "conquered" by hippies and is now regarded as an art/agricultural town. The people living there have built themselves homes in the ruins of the town. My Fotos might not be top notch, but they give the feeling of the place. They sky was clouded so not much light.
Hope these help someone.

As the name of the site suggests, it has a lot of images of more modern architecture, but it's not limited to it. If you look around on the forums, you'll find a lot of interesting (and some high resolution) images of buildings all over the world.
One of my favorite topics is this one ("The Most Imposing Building"): http://www.skyscrapercity.com/showthread.php?t=993109
It's cool and inspiring. Definitely worth checking out.
Might be old news to those in Chicago or around but I found this link in the Guardian today: 'When Chicago-based nanny Vivian Maier died in 2009, she left behind 100,000 negatives that no one but she had ever seen. Her work was discovered by chance by an estate agent who set about putting her pictures on a blog. Now the photographs she took on her days off are being haled as 'ranking up there' with the best in 20th-century street photography.
I know it's probably more about people but most of the scenes are outside so I thought it appropriate to put here as well.
