A study I did a while back after Norman Rockwells "Freedom to Worship" A4 graphite on bristol board...about 5 hours I think. Did it as a exercise in drawing wrinkled faces and hands

I didn´t know Boldini O_O Pretty inspiring!
This is a copy i did of Andrea Del Sarto's head of the Madonna.
@panchosimpson Those are simple wonderful such movement and energy, its nicely captured. Keep up the good work.
@mcarmbk, that looks very good. Only thing I notice is around the bust it seems to have gotten darker than the original. Keep it up.
Here is a charcoal study

Wow, what a beautiful thread!
QT_Melon: your Sargent is just perfection itself. I wish I had a 'Sargent brush', you don't seem to need one!
Here are some of the studies I did recently. Incredibly insightful!
A Bouguereau - 'Ętude Tete de Jeune Fille', a J. S. Sargent - 'Tramp', and a Winterhalter - ' 'Princess of Wales' (which I am still working on), [UPDATE] and a Roka (not sure what the name is, he did a lot of these)
Best of luck and inspiration to all of you,
Ana

Hey,
This is my first master copy attempt and first post here. I've been lurking for awhile. I'm not done, just wanted to get some feedback since I've done the face and I'm not totally happy with it, but not sure why.
A couple to throw to the loins
Ok heres a couple of ones from me ... I mostly love to study these guys , they knew their stuff !!! and then some ...the first is Mr Bougereau's 'Ętude Tete de Jeune Fille' - Oils on canvas a study of H Drapers Water nymph! ~ and the last needs no intro in my book : ) Really nice works going on in this thread!!
Philbeam, the angle of her eyelid (lashes edge) should be more horizontal.
Here's one I didn't finish that I did last week.
Close up - I scribble a lot.

Artificial - Wonderful copy , curious is this digital or paint ..?
It's paint. I'll post a better picture as soon as i've finished some more details (curtain en jewelry). Working up to madam x here.
I was 15 when I drew this, I'm 17 now. It took 5 hours I think.
no idea why it was framed, my parents were proud I guess. I don't like it that much.
and the reference, by Michelangelo

Really great thread here! Here's a study I did towards the end of last month, Sargent's portrait of Monsieur Carolus Duran.
Photoshop mastercopy of a Sargent painting. took around 1 hour 30 mins.
i liked the contrast, the lines of the hole and the lines and the construction of the details, the render - without words...we have so much to learn from all these drawings if only we realize it.
I love making master copies in pencil. In the future I will attempt oil. These are a couple of drawings from the last two weeks..
