Oh my god, I love dem legs.
Those anatomy studies look brilliant too, is it just me, or do you enjoy doing them? They have a lot of life to them, you see, and it's good fun looking through them.

Shame about the fact you're feeling anxious, if it's any consilation I'm loving what you got here so far so keep up the good work!

Just stumbled upon this and im in total awe!
I study anatomy right now as well and I wish I were as good as you
Your pictures have so much life and character as well as splendid lineweight.
Your colors on the other hand often look a little bit monochromatic. That may
be just your style but if you want to go for a more realistic look you should try
to bring some diversity in your palette.

Ill boomark this thread fer sure

Just some from earlier today. Gonna try to update this thing more regularly.

From youtube... You know I thought some about anatomy and how long its taken me to learn what I know... why does it take so long? Frank Frazetta said he did it in a night. What the fuck is up with that? Lucky bastard.

    Also, Demi's shakeweight.

ITS THE GIFT THAT GIVES BACK!

God been dealing with so much anxiety today. Talked to my dad and he's convinced me to go try to get professional help.

This all comes with the territory of being an angsty artist, right? Anyone else have experience with this kind of shit? I don't know what I want with my life and I don't even know why it feels ok to talk about this here I'm sorry. I'm not even sure if art really has anything to do with the real issue, tbh. I don't know.

love your characters expressions haha priceless. great studies too!

as far as having anxiety goes.. i wish i could help, i have an assortment of issues myself. high blood pressure, horrible mood swings, on and off depression, serious bi polar (thanks dad) haha yea, the list goes on.. drawing is my therapy. it helps to seclude myself, and seriously tackle art for a while. i try to also get out, and hang with friends as much as possible. its all a balancing act, but dont ever feel like your going through something alone. theres tons of people that are experiening whatever it is you feel. but i hope you feel better and keep drawing awesome stuff for me haha.

Thank you so much for this! I really don't know whats wrong with me but recently its been getting pretty bad. Like... part of me is just convinced I'm making a big deal out of something small and should just pull myself up and get better. But always the sadness conquers. When I'm drawing and on a roll... I feel powerful, I feel alive. Its like a drug addiction, I do it constantly. But then usually my mood goes down again and I'm pretty much powerless to get out of it for some time. It effects my views on everything. Most negatively my relationship with my girlfriend.

It's long distance, which is inherently very frustrating. But I love her so much and we get along so well. Most of the stuff I've shown you guys is inspired by her characters we just... work well together. My dad said once it was like we were attracted to each other's spirits. There is literally nothing wrong with our relationship.

But its like when it 'attacks'... I start picking everything about it apart. I start sabotaging it. And it kills me XC. But aaah I'll stop going on about it.

On a happy note, I watched that Pokemon "Mystery of Mew" with Nat the other night. This was my interpretation of it.

    8D!

Also, to continue the shake weight joke, a less funny one:

    Xolasky loves his Bella...

Sorry for the crap sketches today... haven't felt like drawing anything.

There's some really amazing work in here. I am absolutely head over heels in love with your style. I'm having real trouble translating what I'm learning from anatomy studies into the sort of stylised art that I love, but you seem to be making that connection and improving a lot.

As far as your anxiety goes, it sounds very familiar to me. I have been dealing with a very similar thing for a very long time (I've discussed it a bit in my sketchbook, but not at any significant length) and it quite often doesn't mean anything other than that your brain is screwing with you for no reason. Try your best to ignore it and go get some help. Hopefully knowing that you're not alone might help you to understand that you're not insane... unless we're both insane, of course!

Also, don't feel weird about discussing it here. My own issues are closely tied into my art and you might find that you're experiencing the same thing. The important thing is that you're talking about it.

Anyway, I'll subscribe and check in from time to time.

Wow guys, I can't tell you how much I appreciate the empathy here. I guess it really is silly of me to act like my problem is something that doesn't also bother a lot of other artists.

It is really difficult to overcome sometimes though, you know? I grew up and for a long time clung to drawing as my only means of self worth. I was really fat and really depressed and had nothing else. But at least I could draw well. At least I had SOMETHING I was 'superior' at (in my mind... before I met the internet XD). Lately I've realized that part of me still clings to that... and in order to progress as an artist I must learn to live without the need to justify myself with it.

Things I've also learned from art: I love light... and I FUCKING love tits!

Thanks to all of you posting in my thread, you make me want to cry C'B

I aspire for my drawings to be as lively and expressive as yours! Their faces! Man! Follow'd. How long have you been at this? (Sorry if you've answered that before.)

Omg~ Thank you so much!. Hmm... I've been drawing since about high school but I've never really had any formal training ._.; I think about ten years intermittedly? Looking back on all that time makes me realize I should be better than I am now. Ugh I wish I could go to school ;__;.

    Mrrr, more sketches. So tired.

    Studies:

Trying to run a drawing group online... its been an eye opening experience. Hard. Here are some gestures from today:

(study from an Egon Schiele drawing done upside down...)

Its so true that whenever you do warm ups you draw so much more smoothly afterward. I don't know if its noticeable, but it sure feels a lot better.

Also lol my girlfriend is getting me into Sonic... how terrible...

Your style fits on animation very well.
I see a love for old manga style, no?
Keep up, you are confident with lines but be careful with the values. Try to be cleaner with your edges!

anyways, nice updates! i would suck your brains out of your skull for your confidence with figures, especially the initial loose lines you throw down, love the gestures, and movement. keep being crazy! its inspiring!!! haha

I've not located an ebook version of Composing Pictures. Its a huge textbook so I'm not sure how navigable it would be as an ebook anyhow.

Stop that. Stop making Sonic art look acceptable right now. You'll destroy us all.

Oh, loving the last posts by the way. Said it before, and I'll say it again- the colours are delicious, you make bodies so dynamic and here's hoping you keep up the good work as usual.
