I'm really impressed; how big is it?
Ah I love this!!! currently studying for my own Lovecraft sculpting project. Don't you just love Cthulhu in all his lovely horribleness![]()
he's so cute, i love it
Thanks for taking a look! (though I'm not sure "cute" was the reaction I was going for!)
He stands about 7 inches tall, 9 with the base, and is actually pretty hefty. Casts will probably weigh several pounds at least.

Very gruesome and Scary work. lol It's an excellent piece, I really like the eyes. I am sure casting those wings will be quite a challenge considering the holes. Great work.

Nice combinations of wrinkles, veins and warts!
Hey girl....this guy is great, super creepy, and I am sure Lovecraft fans would buy this....corpsehand is right about the casting, but there is an easy fix for that...fill in the holes with epoxy, but don't fix them....try to leave the indents of where they are, so then when you mould them and cast them you can still see them, then it's an easy thing to dremel them out again and sand them smooth....just a little trick.
Good luck.

I've seen a trick with putting a thin film of epoxy into holes. I may give it a try. Unfortunately it will probably be a little while yet til I can acquire the materials to cast this guy, but at least that'll give me some time to work up the nerve to do it! I'm going to buy some Dragon Skin silicone this time, instead of the off-brand I tried before, which resulted in an epic mess...

Wonderful designs which comes just like in the dragon movies.
Will you be making copies of your Cthulhu Idol for sale??? How are you planning on finishing (painting/antiquing) it?
I will be casting copies of him, I'm not sure exactly when they'll be ready for sale though.
I've got several colour schemes I'll experiment with, some imitation stone finishes and antique bronze looks, etc.
