    Konichi wa!!! ^.^
Heyz I'm Jobii no-last-name and I've only just joined this forum.
I've been drawing ever since I was really little, though I was never good at it until I was 13. I found my muse in Manga and Anime` styled drawings. For me it was a get away from all the bad things in my life, it made me so happy and now I want to make others happy by creating art!

My dream is to be a concept artist a design characters for Disney or Square-Enix =3 But I think any company will do!!! I'm still in school Year 11 (junior) but I am leaving soon as the school I am currently attending in our very small communtiy in way out back Australia does not have the classes I need to be accepted into the university course I need to become a concept artist.

SO I'm going to gain money and when I'm old enough move away and join this 2 year tafe course about five hours away and get my degree that way ^^; Why is my life so complicated??? Please feel free to check out my sketches and finished art works and if there is any advice you have for me i'm open and I don't bite!!!!!

    Hello world!

My name is Carla Stauffenberg, currently 16 years old this year. I've been drawing ever since I was 4-5 years old. Though pretty much it's just a stick people sketches and a bunch of abomination. I started drawing anime characters from 9 ~ 13 years old, copying pictures, trying to understand the basic techniques on how to draw the right anatomy. As I progress, I've been making my own characters and tried to develop my own style.

From 14 to present, I've been drawing dark, horror and surreal artworks. The usual black and white artworks since I'm only using gel-pen or pencil on my dark artworks. I've also quit going along the anime style drawing. I'm no longer fond of animes but I don't hate anime! o.o

I've also started doing abstract style, I only started doing it a few months ago and I'm quite new to this kind of field since It's more colorful and it's not the usual thing I do. Because Abstract artworks seems to be more serious than just simply drawing a girl with a dark outfit then calling it a dark artwork. I use Color Pencils on this field, I like the color of color pencils. I'm currently working on a comic, I made it like the Yellow Submarine movie. Weird and colorful. I'll be posting it here as soon as I finish the second chapter.

I haven't been on any art school since my country only has them on rich and prestigious schools, I'm quite a poor guy, you know, haha. They don't support art that much, they're more focused on other careers like Nursing, Hotel n' Resto Management and other etc.

Here is where I upload my artworks:
    *My DA acc: deadcharlotte.deviantart.com
*My Tumblr gallery (The name is a pseudonym): http://deadcharlotte.tumblr.com/
(I'm be creating a new DA account solely for my comics and other colorful artworks since It doesn't go along with my dark DevArt acc)

I will be posting my other artworks here as soon as possible.
Thank you for reading this, hope to meet you guys soon. I also hope we get along together.

Hello everyone. My name is Perry, and I'm a 22 year old student at the University of Baltimore. I've been drawing ever since I was about 7 or 8: mostly just copying pictures I found around the net or magazines. I stopped drawing for a few years once I turned 18 after realized that I wasn't very good lol. That said, I've recently been inspired to start picking up my pencil again.

I hope I'll be able to learn a lot from everyone here. I look forward to getting to know you all.

Hello everyone, I'm Ransom. I'm a 16 year old student from the United States. My focus is more on Fine Art than Concept Art, but everyone in this community seems so helpful and determined to improve, and I enjoy the inspiring company.

I am here also to improve my drawing skills in order to take my artwork to a new place.

I work mostly in traditional media, primarily acrylics and oils. I use the acrylics for Abstract/Non-Objective Art and the oils more for Representational and Realist painting. I also dabble in Photoshop occasionally.

I hope to get to know all of you better.

    See ya later.

    Hey, Hello!

Well... Morpheus Hall isn't really my name. It's actually something else that will make you cringe by the mere spelling of it. So, I guess I should hide my name for good. If you are a Sandman fan, you could tell that my pseudo-name is influenced by the series. (BTW, I'm really glad I picked up "The Sandman" during a boring break in school... Though, I read "Death: At Death's Door" first before the main series... *sorryplz*)

    Moving on.

I'm 17 years old and I'm a college student that is worn out from studying so it's just a stroke of luck if the professor dislikes his/her subject and decides to teach us things that we need to survive life.

I'm not really good when it comes to deadlines and responsibilities because I tend to procrastinate; when I don't feel like drawing or doing anything, I don't draw or do anything at all. I have this bad habit of disliking being forced to do things or rushing me to do things and being told what to do over and over again when it was made clear the first time. So yeah, I'm a block-headed person and a jerk. I need more anger management issues because I keep my anger bottled up. So if I the tendency to rant, I'm bottled-up angry at that moment.

    ... So see? I'm not an easy and scary person to get along with... ^^;

I can't say much about my drawing style. People say it has a lot of details; my people-art look alike; and the worst of all... it's cartoony and always anatomically incorrect. I've long accepted the fact that no one will like my art but I hope the people could help me how to improve.

    Sorry for the long introduction. I'm going away now... ^^;

Bonjourno from Ireland!!...haha see what I did there, different lingo from a different country....yeah..juxtaposition Where to being?! My name's Michael, i'm 23, born and raised in Ireland, it's always raining and always windy but i'm used to it. Erm...I'm a night person? I love diet coke...long walks on the beach and all that shite..not really!

I've been drawing on and off for the past few years with no signs of improvement, (i'm better with painting) this is mainly due to the fact that i'm such a lazy dick! But i've finally managed to buckle myself down and now i'm here. I really want to improvement myself so i'm drawing none stop day in day out now.

I recently bought my very first Wacom tablet, it's amazing but i'm still slightly coming to terms with how to use it.
    As you can see here;

    Another Shy Beginner

Hello. I've been a compulsive sketcher and doodler for a long time and over the past month or so, I've really been pushing myself to try to break my bad habits and start trying to make my art better. I'm in my twenties and I'm not sure if I'll ever really be a professional, but I'd like to break through the anxiety I have about sharing my artwork and get some guidance in how to improve it.

I'm almost entirely self taught and have picked up a load of bad habits as a result, and its only recently that I've mustered up the courage to realize that I need some people to tear my stuff apart if I really want to make it better. Lacking any traditional training, I have a lot of problems with having my figures look flat and over-stylized and I've only really forced myself to work in color for the past eight weeks.

Despite this, I think I have a lot of good basic ideas that I want to express and hope that people will gift me with their advice so I can better bring them to life.

I'm very happy that there are, in fact, sites like this, which encourage growth and improvement so adamantly.

Kinda late for an introduction, but...

Hello. I want to be a good artist, so I'm practicing now. I'm 20 years old and I live in New York. However, I do not have a sketchbook on this site as I don't have the courage to post one in the midst of such amazing artwork far above my own. I'm not very educated in art so I don't post my opinions much, but I do spend a lot of time looking at the multitude of threads and tutorials here. Thank you.

Hello to no-one in particular....or, you know, to everybody. Your choice!
I am yet another longtime lurker (which always sounds really weird and incredibly creepy to me) who really wants to be less suckish when it comes to the whole art scene!

I'm 18 from Ireland and I plan on doing a portfolio prep course next year. Of course I'm not going to wait till September to get my sketch on. Can't let everyone else get a head start now can I?

Gonna start a sketchbook soon so if anybody wants to drop by do not hesitate! I have a feeling I'll need all the help I can get!

    Long live the noobs!

Hello everyone, I'm Comet! I'm 19 years old from the UK and I'm completely new to this place! I've never had any formal training because I only recently took a serious interest in art but I still hope to improve because I now love it~ I'm a creative sort so I've always been into writing and creating stuff especially in the fantasy genre.

I hope I can really hone my skills and grow as an artist! Nice to meet you all, looking forward to talking to you.

Hi. My name is Rachel and I'm 18 years old. Yeah I've been a member on here for a few months but today, I got out of my shell and started to post. I was going to wait until college but I was like "Why not post now xD?". I'm here to improve my work and hopefully in like 5 or 10 years from now, I want to work in the awesome art world and hopefully become a manga artist or an Animator (since I like animation in a sense).

    Hello everyone!
Actually, I signed up for this forum way back in... well, way back whenever. I am just now saying hello, after lurking for quite a long time.

I've been drawing on and off for a while, but I'm hoping that once I start drawing a lot more, I'll be able to improve my skill!

    Nabbed from my sketchbook intro....

I am a real newbie, and I mean that in terms of the last time I sat down and drew something was in my art classes when I was about 15, so that was 17 years ago.

Saying that, I like to think that I'm creative as I like photography and I'm always thinking up concepts/images that I want to create. The latest push is that I really want to develop the skill of being an artist and convey what I see to paper. I also want to create an animation for my son, and I want to be able to get the ideas from my head down onto paper. I've always liked the idea of reproducing what I see.

Over the years, I realise that I am a very visual person. I also want to develop a skill that will keep my brain active and I can do when I'm older.

I remember when I was younger in class that I want through a period of being artistic, I drew cartoon characters like Lion-O/Mumm-Ra, the characters from Battle Beasts (Which was hanging on my parents wall until a couple of months ago). They were pretty good for someone that didn't draw. However, the interest waned and I moved onto other interests.

I also remember the homework from school namely the bowl of fruit and the draw the view from the window. Back then it was boring but now I realise what it was that they were trying to teach (pity that they didn't tell me that and/or I wasn't paying attention). The problem that I had with the window view was that I was always trying to draw around the corner, so the perspective was all skewed.

The best piece I ever did was a still life of a fellow pupil, it was great (for my skill level), sure the angles were slightly wrong, but it looked like a person (minus a head - could never get the head/proportions right).

Anyway to the future, I plan to draw as much as I can, I really want to get better and I do have the drive. I'm also learning about 3D art as well (Using Blender). I'm learning from 'Drawing from the Right Side...' and the 'Fun with a Pencil'. I'll draw and scan them in as often as I can.

It's good coming from this as an adult as I can understand. Hopefully I can inspire my 2 year old son (incidentally we've got him a drawing desk for his birthday in 3 weeks ).

So it is going to be back to the homework of the past, drawing the fruit bowl, the view outside the window, the cups, the toy balls, etc.

It truly is an inspiration to be here and see the level of talent (which I realise has come from years of hard hard work). They say to improve you have to surround yourself with people better than you. That's why I'm here.

Also, another main reason I'm here is that I want to do an animation and I want to be able to put my ideas down on paper.Plus I want to have a skill that I can use when I'm older and grey

Hi, I'm lukas, and I come off as mean a lot of time, but I don't usually try to be mean.
I'm 13 and I want to become a concept artist for animations, so that I know I'm pleasing people with my art for the movie and I'll also please myself. Oh, it would also be really cool to have people see my name in credits of movies.

So basically; I want to do concept art for movies

Hello! I'm Joe, i'm 24 years old and i'm from Long Island, NY. Been lurking for a long time for no good reason.

I've been drawing for a long time, as long as i can remember really. Got more interested as i got older. Got into anime when i was in high school and got out of it before graduating. I've been going to art classes at a community college, but didn't take it seriously until about a year ago when i decided to focus on Fine Arts (i was taking graphic design courses until then).

I took a Drawing II course (which wasn't all to good) but also took a Figure Drawing course. I loved it, my professor was amazing! Learned so much, and grew a lot as well.

I've started painting last semester, and plan on getting some portfolio pieces together. I also seriously intend to start a sketchbook here, since this is certainly the more active of art forums i've been on.

...and i wrote a lot more than i intended to.

    Helloooo

    Hi all.

I'm an animation graduate from England (Studied in Wolverhampton if anyone's interested) and I've got a taste for digital painting.

I'm always trying to improve my work, as I've had little schooling in real painting techniques, composition, etc.

Joined the forum after being amazed by some of the great artwork that gets posted here and would really enjoy being part of the community, get some tips and take part in the competitions.

    Hello everyone!

Ive visited here many a times, mainly to look at the sketchbooks and consider making one of my own. But I have always chickened out after looking through the sketchbooks and seeing work that is way ahead of my own. I've finally decided to throw my chicken.....ness(?) to the side and get some feedback on my work so I can grow as an artist. Feel free to check out my sketchbook and if you would like to know anything else message me!

Oh, I had no idea this forum exists because it's not one of the major ones.

So I've been lurking on this forum for a while and just decided to join. Many people here make some amazing pictures and I realize I have a long long way to go. I'm 20 and currently studying Psychology at UCI, but arts has always been a big part of me. I'm a pretty inconsistent person and my interests change like crazy but it seems like arts is one of the few things that have been stable. Hope to learn from you guys.

    Hiya all,

Doing a degree in animation but discovered recently that I'm not content where I'm at with my art so I thought I'd throw my all into improving and darn the consequences. This post is most likely going to be my only one as my plan is just to lurk and use challenges for ideas on what to draw. (Yay for secret introduction threads!)

    Hi!

I'm a software engineer... for 7 years! but that's not the point. My passion has always been art, and now I'm back sharpening my skills again (I can only do sketches, never developed skills for color ) and hopefully, someday soon become a full time artist (concept artist? comics artist... i don't care yet ).

I've been leeching for quite sometime around here, and found that this is a great place for an amateur like me. Hopefully I get to learn twice as fast now. And contribute (whatever I can...) something back in the future.

    Thanks all!

    Hi~

I signed up like, a month or so ago (I think) and didn't post jackall because I want to lurk and see what there is around here first, make sure I don't step on people's toes so to speak. That didn't go very well, this place is confusing, so now I decide the best way to dis-confuse myself is to post what I have to ask.

Which is none, at this moment, but I probably will think of something eventually, and then I will be confused as to where to ask. Such is life~

I'm 24, an IBC (Ireland-born Chinese), raised in Ireland and have the attention span of a fish. Nice to meet all of you!

Hello. When I first discovered this site the amount of amazing art intimidated me but now I realize its full of artists at many different levels. I generally like to draw cartoons with a psychedelic twist to them. Just graduated from HS(Art and design in NYC) and hope to go to a nice art college(maybe Joe Kubert?). Hope to one day become an animator, concept artist or storyboarder(though my dream job is to work for Double fine, the creator of games such as Psychonauts/costume quest).

Hello everyone! My name is Rohaan, I am a struggling Graphic Designer and avid photographer based out of Philadelphia.

However I secretly aspire to do concept art for either the film or video-game industry someday. I am a huge fan of sci-fi/ fantasy genres so I spend a great deal of my free time drawing strange machines/ creatures. There's a lot of amazing art here so I was a little intimidated to join, but I also figured it would be a good way to improve.

I typically work in graphite and ink, although recently I have started painting digitally in Photoshop and Sketchbook as well.

A pretty late introduction...but better late than never. I'm Kezia...and contrary to my online name I am from Australia. I graduate from high school this year and hope to take a dual accounting and art degree next year. I will admit I was inactive for a time and posted on deviantArt (I got intimidated...but I'm back now). I also like to write stories so I'm hoping to work in the comic book industry.

Anyway, I've been drawing since I was 5, but when I was 10 I started learning how to draw manga from 'The Art of Drawing Manga' by Ben Krefta. I also sketched pictures of celebrities from magazines. However I soon devoted my time to drawing manga for about 7 years now. Recently I have been trying to expand from manga into realism and marvel-style art.

My sketchbook mainly consists of pictures I sketch in my spare time. I did take art classes from grade 8-10 but unfortunately I had to drop art from my senior subjects as requested by my parents who wanted me to take accounting instead. The link to my sketchbook and deviantArt is in my signature if anyone's interested.
I am a ...no really, did you see me do that?
