Mandryk, everytime I see your work, I am asking myself, how???? How do you do it? It would be great, if youd explain to us, how do you come up with those lines, ideas?
Your are a true inspiration and I am awed!
Congrats to you man!!
holy boody hell man.
fak.
Nice man, glad to hear that you are now a freelancer... always imagined that you would blossom as a premier cover artist and all around badass. Good luck man and kick some ass,
-J
wow, amazing work again, Daryl!
Way too cool!!!
Hey guys, hope you all had good holidays!
xchosun1x; Yeah I wish we got to work together more closely, I would have loved to pick your brain. Andrew tells me good things about your class down there, I'm jealous he gets to learn directly from you. Keep rocking it!
crazybrush; thanks Goran! We did produce a shitload of stuff didn't we? It was a fun universe to explore for a while. Hopefully we'll work together again soon!
J May; Hey John! long time no see, hope you're doing well. You'll have to drop me an email sometime and give me an update.
Thujon; thanks man, that's kind of a big question....haha. I guess it's just taking all my influences and putting them in a blender...and out comes this result. There are a couple older tutorials on my site you can look at that might shed some light on how I think. They are a little outdated though, so if you have something specific you want to ask about, feel free and I'll do my best to answer.
Bomba; Jason, thanks man, I appreciate it! So far so good, and things are getting quite busy....we'll see what 2011 brings. So far I'm having a lot of fun and am loving it. =)
happy new year!
oooo, so much stuff! Love the art dumps you do. Dump all over me.

top notch stuff, once again!
superprofessional
May we just name you God of Concept Art and be done with it? All the justification is right here. Your work never ceases to blow me away.
Is there a kind of upcoming entertaiment design in this world , relly blowing-mind
You sure know how to paint some striking images. The Tron style is already distinctive and powerful, yet you somehow seem to add something special to it.
Really nice work, as always.
THank you for this mind blowing update. Can you write some tutorials please, I would love to know your method. For example, how do you do those soldier sketches?
wow D:
@#&"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How many hours a day did you have to draw to get that good? :]
@ Mandryk: Your my inspiration! I enjoy following your blog, I use most of your images as my desktop wallpaper, I started buying ImagineFx just cause you where in it with a tutorial, Its gonna take me years to even catch up to your level of art work its incredible, keep it coming man never stop!
If you could please post a landscaping tutorial or one where you add textures to designs that would be awesome, I'm also intrigued by your gun designs, it seems you work up the structure in another program like blender or something then paint it, that would explain how you get such good isometric drawings of them (top view, side view etc), I've recently got myself sketchbook designer 2011 that can also be used, I've used solid works as well but thats more for part designs.
Your colors are perfect, any knowledge you would share would be really helpful for a noob like me
Thanks MAN![]()
I give up
Mandryk man, this is really mindblowing material!
It is a crime to see this and remain silent. You truly deserves every single word of admiration and acclaim(it´s the least we can do). I really hope you´re having all the success this "big-ass dump" suggests! Keep having fun, man!
I haven´t words. Impressive. I like specially the Drawing of Conan. I think he is Conan, ¿isn´t it? Best regards.

Congratulations, you almost made an adult man cry.Hope you are happy now.
How did you get into the concept art buiss, by the way? I am freelancing right now, but would like to getwhere you started. Do I have to know all kinds of 3d proggs? ^^ Maybe you can write me a Message? Would be nice.
Great progress........excellent work!!
hey guys, thanks so much...appreciate all your comments.
mEgA fLeeCe RaIn; there are a few older tutorials on my web page, and you might be able to find some of my Imagine FX articles if you look through some back issues. I'd like to write some more, but I'm pretty busy at the moment so I'll have to wait until I get some free time.
AdrianNagorski; thanks man! yep you're right on the money, for many technical designs it's easier to just mock up the shapes in a 3D program and then paint over top of it in photoshop. I use Sketchup a lot for this, and if you're not familiar with it, I'd recommend the free download just to play around with it....you'll soon see the potential. I also sometimes use maya for this process, however it doesn't really matter what package you use...just whatever you are comfortable with.
Vaejoun; I got in the concept business in a round-a-bout way....started as a 3D modeller and texture artist, and then slowly made the transition. Eventually I worked on a project where I was full-time concept artist, and decided that was pretty much what I wanted to do from then on. A 3D background helped me a bit I think...thinking of objects in 3 dimensions was made easier for sure when translating them to 2D. I don't think it's necessary to know 3D programs to get a full-time concept gig, but it certainly doesn't hurt either. Just treat 3D as a tool in your toolbox, useful for solving certain problems that would take too long otherwise, and use where appropriate.
deco152; haha, thanks man - appreciate it.
PaulDavidson; thanks Paul! hope you're good.
You've produced dome heavyweight stuff here mate........keeps us all on our toes..........keep up the good work
Amazing. Some of these works really bring worlds to life.
I especially love the brachiosaurus and the docked spaceship in the canyon. Really got me fantasizing with those.
