    The Wacom Glove

Has anyone else had to resort to this?

It's been so muggy in my studio lately that my hand has been sticking to my Wacom, making all my lines funky. I finally got so frustrated that I went out to a photo equipment place, bought a pair of negative handling gloves and modified the right one as you see. This really works well, so I'm wondering if my hands are especially sweaty or if this is a common hack.

Well, a wicked cool glove like that WOULD be the ideal solution, sure. A guy posted this on my blog as well:

the photographer's slide handling gloves don't last long

I've been using the Wacom tablets for a couple of years already and I've always bought the photographer's slide handling gloves and just cut the fingers off too, but I found that they don't really last that long. (They're made of a really thin cotton material).

Someone from another thread here at Conceptart had already mentioned about the SmudgeGuard glove at:

    http://conceptart.org/forums/showthr...=1#post1394656

and I've purchased two SmudgeGuards already. The delivery was super fast and I'm really happy with my purchase. The material is super strong, snug and lightweight AND it's in my favorite color - black. I've been using it everyday! I'd recommend it to every Wacom user.

he he..thankfully I moved back into my parents house for the time being and got my setup downstairs, and its been the hottest summer here so far. so, that said, I'm downstairs in the cool environment so I need not worry for gloves!

I've done this for years. I use "moisturizing gloves" from a drugstore though (they're the same as negative handling gloves, just white cotton, but they only cost $2.99). I leave both the pinky and ring finger on though since those fingers both touch the tablet/paper.

I bought one of these last year: http://smudgeguard.com/
Been really happy with it. Yeah it seems like something you can make yourself (and plenty of you have, judging by the pics!) but if you'd rather just buy something a bit more elegant, I recommend them.

*edit* just noticed this is my "first post" (i thought i had more? maybe they were removed somehow?) I swear this is not an ad
