Amazing work n1frit, loving your style and subjects!

The only crit I could possibly give would to just see some of your work a little tighter and more refined because your sketches themselves look fantastic!

Nice sb so far! Be careful not to get too scratchy- texture is good, but it can become overwhelming quickly.

These last few paintings have a great mood! I especially like the second one.
It feels that you use brushes that are too small sometimes, which results in messy-looking surfaces. Try always using the biggest possible brush first, then slowly start using smaller ones as you start detailing.

Hope that helps and keep up the good work!

    Hi there!

Stunning use of colour, and I love the looseness of the brush! Would be great to see the attention being drawn in by even more variation between the loose bits and the detailed bits - try really zooming in on the most important parts, for example. Beautiful work!

I think you asked how long we spend drawing. For me it varies wildly - I can go morning to night for a week and then not even look at a pencil for a month. I definitely get obsessive when I'm in it, for good or bad.

    Best,

    Ana

Thanks a lot for council, I just tried to understand why a texture of my works dirty and not accurate it turns out. I like works of Craig Mullins, Its like to solve a riddle, how he has made it? They have in many respects affected style of my drawings.
I was mostly referring to the one with the woman lying down, specifically her skin.

... But in the last two you posted this isn't that much of an issue anymore. Great job! Looking forward to seeing more

Looking good! You asked about texture, I think you just need to tighten up the edges so the textured masses are seperate forms. Mullins actually uses very little texture but with a hard round scribbles across the forms to give things variety in their surface, it's his strict edge control that makes the pieces work so well.

Really nice colors on these last two paintings!
The one with the tree is especially nice - maybe spent some more time on rendering the guy so he stands out more as the focal point? Right now the grass on the ground is drawing all the attention because it's so beautifully detailed.

Hello! I am using Babelfish machine translation so apologies if what I write is a little difficult to understand!
Yes you are correct, the CHOWs are for individuals, but it is fun to discuss ideas publically in groups.
Also I often get disqualified for not obeying the rules, but I dont mind, it is just for fun!
Can you think of a good name for the space ship of a smuggler? Are there any famous smugglers from Ukraine legend that would be good inspiration?
    Here are some from England:

you make some great choices about your colors and values. i can see the impressionist influence here in how you treat light (especially in the june 6th posting).

ide like to suggest/challenge you to try to be more decisive about what it is you are conveying. I think the painterly approach is totally you, and you are good at it.

Just remember that contrast creates visual interst. if everything is highly saturated, non-descript, and highly textured, then nothing will stand out to catch the eye of the viewer. Also this will continue to throw off the spatial relationships of perspective.
