Thanks for the comments peoples! Trying to doodle a steam squid type thing
at the mo. Probably have to start from scratch though, it's confusing my
girlfriend and she's the quality control. My early sketches are often hard to read
but I'll get there. Probably.
i loved ur first work
but the second is very hard to read
anyway keeep up
Oh man, "Steam Squid" looks so good. Keep it in development! Listen to quality control though, let it simmer.Your colour work up top is super sharp as well. Nice style.

steam squid 2!
Thanks for the input guys. Decided to make the thing part organic, part
mechanical. Kept the colours quite muddy, tried making the squids flesh
pink at first but it looked seriously phallic!
hah.awsome work you make. Please keep sharing. it's great to see your graphite stuff too
Neat little sketchbook so far, i dig your use of heavy shadows in the first coupla' posts. And the steam squid idea is awesome, though i think i like the original pencil sketch better for the moment, will you be tossing some of those juicy dark black shadows into this most recent one as well?
Either way, awesome work, i'll be back for more!
fag and tea labour saving apparatus
Hello there! Thanks for the feedback peoples. Not going to do any heavier shadows on the squid I'm afraid. Most of the doodles that I did last year relied
heavily on very dark shadows, time to try something new! ( it won't last). This pic is pretty much the same idea as the first one that I posted, might patent
this version though. I'd use one!
Ahhh you don't have much up yet, but I have a feeling this sketchbook's going to be something brilliant.
Really interesting concepts, and I'm hoping you keep up the good work! Hope to see more soon~

Need to buy cable tidies.
wicked stuff! I love how all your drawings have so much flow and energy. I look forward to more.
Thanks for sharing! Keep on posting!
Wow nice work man. Really dig the style and definitely want to see more!
agreed. no critiques, i just wanna see some more, your style's great!

Thanks for all the encouragement peoples! Loving this site, I've had a good look through some of the sketchpad's tonight, so much great artwork out there!
wow! i am having so much fun viewing these images. lets see more! more more more![]()
I like your unique linework. Pretty strong enery in your drawings. Very cool!![]()
The back of someone's computer is untidy. Definitely need some cable ties in there. The facial expression on the little blue guy on the machine in #18 is *perfect* - he looks so worried and mournful. The only criticism I have of any of your stuff so far is that it took me a minute to read the smoke as smoke. It has an organic quality that made me think it was like the squid's flesh. Maybe if it was broken up a bit more or something? The most fantastic handling of smoke I have seen recently is this : Travis Charest's Spacegirl pg#47.
It's my only crib, and within the minute I copped it was smoke, so either way works.

Taiga belt roller
Hello there! Thanks for the comments guys. Cheers for the link Donalfall, very useful smoke reference! My heads been wreathed in smoke so many times you'd think I'd be able to draw the stuff by now! I wanted it to look polluted to contrast with the pure, white snow. It could do with being a bit more fluffy though! If in doubt make everything fluffier!
awesome stuff you got here .. tell me in your sketch on post 4 .. that is photoshop or paper drawing ( markers ? )
Hi ayoub66, thanks for taking a look. The sketch in post four is just pencil drawing. Technical pencil for the construction lines and big old normal pencil for the shading. I whacked up the contrast in photoshop to give it a little more definition.
wow really sweet![]()
two droids and a man in a POWER suit
Hello!.....Don't know what to say about this, can't really elaborate on the title.
sketchpad page one
Hi all. Haven't actually posted any random sketchpad pages yet so here goes. Warts and all!
I love your stuff. Can't wait to see more. It has a Etherington Brothersfeel to it.
Only crit I have is there's not enough - plz post more![]()
bookkeeper
Hey people. Haven't posted for a while. Working hard on animations for an indie game. Thanks for the link Rhubix! First time I've seen the Etherington brothers work, they're awesome! Very flattered by your comment. This bookkeeper fella might end up in the game.
Oh, Rhubix has a great point there. It's the same fun, clean, really detailed type of work. I think you'ld work really well with those guys. The two droids and a man in a power suit is cool! Looking forward to seeing those animations.![]()
