nice rendering, however, it looks like a man with breasts, you should probably research the things that make a woman a woman, breasts are purly a fraction of the formula.

I must disagree Briareos, women can look just like that...

    Nice work again hotduck.

Only one crit: the head seems just a tad to small for the body. Or maybe its just that the neck is to long.

    amazing craft as usual.
But this one seems to have a few mistakes in it.

For one the head is a bit too small for the body.

Also, i don't know if you were going for this but, the neck seems to be too long aswell. But i kinda get the feeling you were going for that.

Anothing thing that bothers me is her sholder. It seems to be too low...that should be easy to fix. Just copy paste that.

And the last thing that sticks out to me is her stomache/hip area. I can't really explain what makes it look odd but it does. It's almost like it's suppost to be twisting, but it isn't. I think that it isn't aligned right.

I really like the concept of the character. The thing i love the most about this is her sholder pad things. Those are really nicely done.
    please keep them coming!

    no crits, just opinions

I think the mood would even be darker if her clothing's colored in a dark purple/blue or sth (orange is too friendly :evilbat: )

i disagree with saying it looks like a man. body builders look like that. their breasts are alitlte "stronger" too.

what bothers me is that the head seems a bit too thin and her head seems alittle small.

    great piece though.

hotduck: Lovely and impressive as always. My crits are mostly on some of the lighting of certain things... for example the crystals that seem overly bright and cast black shadows (not light refracted through), no body or arm shadow on the hair, the slightly overexaggerated lighting and exposure differences between the torso and legs, etc. Otherwise, a most excellent concept piece!

hmm i agree her right shoulder is a bit low.. just a tad. i think a little more detail in the hair would be nice too.

however, i like the face a lot... it's a perfect elven face. The concept is also very cool. I don't have a problem with her "buffness" since well, in D&D terms, drow women were often larger and in more power than drow men (an idea the creators probably got from spiders, as dark elfs worship spider gods and such)

    overall, nice work

Well I think it looks good, the pose is very nice, typical drow. Reminds me of Briza from R. A. Salvadore's Dark Elf Trillogy, if you read it. I like how you gave her muscles, I'm starting to think you've read the books.
The drow women are stronger than the men, so this is a typical drow female. The head is the right size, the shoulderplate is just making it look too big. The pose is good, very casual and smug.
Typical drow female, you captured it very well, it is very very rare I have seen anyone pull off such a picture.

Your rendering skills are great and I love the design on the outfit as well as the chosen colors
...however I see a few problems with the picture. It does appear that her arms are a little big and masculine looking and I find that her neck is too long and the head slightly smaller than should be. Her physique should reflect her trade .. if shes a magician then she (at least in my eyes) would have a body of a voluptuous female but if she's a fighter then she would have a muscled body. In the picture she appears to me to be a magician or priest of some sort.

Very nice all around!! I like the contrast between the rough, masculine body and her more feminine face. It adds to that "evil" look and expression on her face.

One thing I've learned from the way you work (doing your greyscale image and then laying the color on top later, according to your tutorial) --- that's a great way to do concept work for a game because it makes it easy to insure color continuity between images. (like if all of a certain race's armor needs to be an exact hue, etc)
Also, your method seems like it would allow lots of color combination changes quickly.
