Nice work Jake, light and colour are your strengths, the hardest components to get right. Looking forward to seeing more of your work. Maybe catch you at IlluXCon this year.

Great imagery Mate, love the Tycoon but it is the Muse I keep coming back to. That's pure Class!
Fucking awesome works, a pleasure to look at.
Love the cool little details like the banana shaped wine glass!

I love the teddy bear piece and I like what you did for the "Discover a Muse" challenge over on ArtOrder. Great work, keep it up.

A friend here (mamerta) sent me a message today saying: "You HAVE TO and SHOULD see This!"... So... I did!
We're writing a surreal, fantasy-inspired, aimless, and maybe even abstract story, (hopefully will get it into a graphic novel when we're done with the script) and it's mainly talking about 3 semi-heroes and the evil "Pink Teddy Gang"!! So the moment I saw your first "Carebare Killer" artwork I was almost gonna fall to the ground laughing! It's MAGNIFICENT!! Brilliant, original, done really nicely, and it truly added much to our inspiration in a time we desperately needed some

and as for the rest, I really appreciated the oil colour ones, especially that I'm a big fan of the traditional ways myself, but despite all that, your characters always have something more in them than what i've seen before, you pay a great attention to detail, and the backgrounds are always well taken care of.
Though in a few samples , I think a little bit of detail could have bee given, not necessarily to reach the level of "Wagon in the Woods", but at least some like "Grey#1", "The Paranormal Investigations Bureau" and "Evading the Bats" could use some extra details on the surfaces, maybe a bit of texture? to get rid of the smooth (maybe digital?) feeling they still have in a few spots, especially in "Evading the Bats", I think there's a bit of extra detail done on the pilot, while the hull of his ship didn't get the same kind of attention...
Anyway, I really appreciate all you work! I really loved it! and the extra work is always connected to the amount of spare time we have (hence my inability to draw, post or even leave a comment for the last three years!), so in less words: BRILLIANT

@FightingSeraph: Thanks a lot!
@Max Martelli: Glad you like it. I appreciate it!
@Headquarter84: Hahaha "Evil Pink Teddy Gang" huh? Maybe there's some sort of primal fear of teddy bears that resides deep down in all of us. I'm glad my piece helped refuel your inspiration though. That's probably one of the best compliments an artist could hear! And I appreciate the kind words on the rest of my work as well as your critiques (I totally agree with you about the digital look). Thanks for stopping by and commenting!![]()
Some new work to display! This body of work was done back in October (I think) for an upcoming release by Z-Man Games entitled "Battle Beyond Space". Basically it's a board game that tries to emulate the fierce and hectic combat between vast armies of space fighters - with a throwback to retro sci-fi aesthetic. The first image will be the box cover and the second shows artwork for cards of the four different alien races you can choose from. Buck Rogers, Sith Frogs, and Space Babes, oh my!!
All images in this post are ©Z-Man Games.

Been way too long since I've updated here. The first four pieces are a series of covers for Dark Horse Comics' upcoming "KULT" miniseries. It was a super fun project to work on and really got me into some subject matter that I don't typically get to do!

I don't do fan art very often, but was inspired by my recent re-playing of the PSX RPG classic, Xenogears! Wanted to treat it as if it were a book cover for the first of a 3 part series. Hopefully I'll have two more coming down the pipeline in the future.

Love your latest image! Reality is served well with your paintings.
Pretty amazing stuff. It's nice to see that a lot of your work is in traditional mediums as well. Although I am also a fan of digital work (especially for projects with a narrow window for completion) oils a great deal harder to learn.
Great work. I look forward to seeing more.
Also, I'm loving the Zenogears piece! Love that game.
Xenogears is the greatest game on Playstation. My jaw dropped when I saw that piece...well sort of...once it linked...that's when it dropped.
Xenogears fan painting #2! And who else could it be but Elly? Two down and at least one more to go. 20"x30" oil on board.
I'm also selling a very limited run of Fei prints on my website at www.murr-art.com! For any hardcore Xenogears fans out there, check them out!

Shit dude, I love the Fei piece. Honestly, I think it might be the best piece here. Way to step it up.
I'm now subscribed. I like the imagination you're putting into them.
Your oil pieces are amazing!
Wow man. Your work is gorgeous.

It's been sooooooo long since I've posted anything new here. Bad me. Terrible me.
This here feller was a private commission for the cover of "ReShoot Volume 2: The Art of Violence" by John Kolsun. The Surrealist is an artist-turned-psychotic villain in the series, and here he is doing what he apparently does best (or at least better than making art): holding a knife and looking creepy! I don't want to give too much away, so head on over to the comic's Kickstarter page to learn more and help support this self-published, action-packed, dystopian sci-fi thriller!
Should have some more fun things to share soon!

Oh wow dude what a treat! Some of these are brilliant![]()
Dude. I'm inspired. I think we all agree that your digital work is awesome and its what the industry is demanding, I know, but the oil paintings are a step ahead. They just have that oil painting look that looks so appealing.
I hope your oil painting covers will get you some book cover work because you deserve it.
And your print selling is inspiring me to try to sell some prints too.
Oh and I love the dark horse covers--those are my fav digital work.
