    Hey all!
I really have nothing interesting about me to say, only that I'm a Game design student and well I'll just be posting stuff here. Feel free to critique as much as you'd like.

This girl is supposed to be from hercules the movie (by Disney) I tried drawing one of the muses realistically, and I came up with this. Her dress is probably wring since I didnt use reference :/

    back again

I want to be a 3d Environment Artist, maybe I should start drawing more environments? I seem to like to draw characters only lol.

well, here are some of my life drawings, because I'm poor I couldn't afford charcoal nor big newsprint paper, therefore I had to use the cheapest thing possible: photocopy paper (which I stole from school hohoho! ) and sharpies.

    Hajime, Thank you C: !

Kalin, lol thanks, I love drawing characters, drawing people is one of my favorite things. But when it comes to 3d, it's too complicated. Getting the loops of the body in the right place is something I've never been able to do :/

Such bold line work I envy your ability to draw such dynamic lines without them looking odd or cluttered. My only critique is that there isnt enough to look at! Post more. Keep up the great work.

    Velocity Kendall, Thanks!

Jauny, aw thanks! you're very kind C: I will post more

Samurai Nik, Thanks! I'm actually learning digital painting too. I'm still not very good, but I do find it easier to start a painting if there's color and texture in the background.
Some people start from grayscale and then apply color using another layer, this method is actually recomended if you're a beginner, and there are even professional artists that work in this way (it's easier to get the lightning and composition properly). Perhaps you could try that method and see how it works out for you!

    Hi. Welcome to Conceptart!
I see your characters vary quite much. The hell of anatomy study awaits.

    I'm waiting *tap tap* >.>

Maybe you can try doing some 3D anatomy studies alongside drawing. If you do basic box modeling with focus on the shape and disregard to topology issues it's going to be a loot more fun.

D: them environments! I will post them monsieur! but so far I've nothing worthy of showing
yes, I do like to use Mudbox to model, and it's easier and more fun than getting the topology done in 3ds max. But I still should know the topology, since I'm going into Game Design after all!

Thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment in my sketchbook, it's been a while.

You seem a little inconsistent, with pieces like faviola and dragonbird working better than 21sb.jpg or 14.jpg.
I'm not sure how to go about making things consistent, other than practice, but I know that's something an art director would look for, although that may not apply in an environment artist's portfolio.

I suspect you use black to paint in shadows. You should look deeper into how light works to figure out what colors to use. Warm lights will cast cool shadows, ambient light will brighten shadows, etc.

Hamsta, hey nice to see you dropping by!
Yes I see what you're saying about inconscistency. I guess I should start having higher standards and paying more attention to what I'm doing.
eh I try not to use black, the whole shadow being the color of the ambient light is something I'm beginning to understand and practice, it's kind of hard since I've been used to thinking of shadows as black almost my entire life.
Thanks for pointing these problems out. I'll definetly work to improve on these.

jamtob2, Hey! Thanks! Yes that's why started using them haha, nothing beats pencil though C: in my humble opinion.

A study with pastels of a painting in oils by David Leffel. I should say a failed study.

Nice work! You really should try and draw more environments, I see you certainly has talent for that. Your anatomy and characters are also really good, you should sculpt in 3D as much as possible if you have the time.
