    Seven Million Clouds~~ [Update - May 1]

    Hey there!

My name is Christine, most people call me Marin or Ma, I'm 21 years old and have been drawing for the last couple of years. I've been lurking around here for the last.. um.. six years or so? Finally I have the courage to post my art (mainly studies) here in the sketchbook section and I hope you like it. I encountered severe problems visualizing all the ideas in my head, being extremely lazy and giving up very easily, so I hope this thread will push me forward and force me to draw more.
You will see mostly studies I guess~ starting with Bridgman, Hogarth, Bammes and some photo studies. I promise drawing more from mind (so many problems Dx)

So have fun everybody and leave some C&C if you want

More studies and personal stuff in the next post.

Yeah! Those are some real solid studies there, really accurate and proportional, I'm really eager to see what you produce after all this practice you've been doing. Keep it up!

Brilliant studies, the amount you've done is mind boggling- the hands struck the most attention for me.

Anyways, I have nothing to say other than I hope you keep up the level of effort you're putting in.

Wow. I will pretty much echoe what everyone else has said: GREAT studies you've got here, really cannot wait to see how you cope with putting them into practice.

Thanks guys I'm glad you like them, much appreciated!

I'm sorry I have to disappoint you. I'm relatively good at drawing something I can see right in front of me (at least humans.. as long as they are not sitting right in front of me) but when it comes to drawing from mind, I pretty much suck. I will practice and post more mind-stuff soon.

Until that, have some old and new paintings I did digitally.

Seeing my progress helps me to hang on and makes me sad at the same time because I could do so much more to improve much faster. *sigh*

A few weeks ago I started studying faces more seriously. I now have two books I can learn from and tons of photographs. It's still hard to draw them from mind, but when I copy something at least I understand what I am drawing/painting and I feel it slowly gets better. I'm actually pretty proud of this one. But the skin texture looks so fake, haha. Reference taken from the Tush Magazine.

The blind pathfinder Jacob from "Ink", one of the greatest movies I have ever seen. I really adore his character and his "song of life". Still WIP.. his right arm and thumb bother me.

Great start! Hope to see more of your figure studies! I like the hands, legs etc. If "giving up" could be transformed later into a "go on", it's only a pause, not a failure! Maybe you want to participate here:

You will see more, don't worry Thanks for the link, I will definitely take a look at it in the future.

Have two studies for today. A movie study from The Fountain (which has so many great facial expressions to learn from) and some arm studies. I will do more of them as I want to break everything down into simple forms. So I start with coloring muscles and muscle groups and simplifying them later into shapes I can easily remember.

Addicted again (see below, I love Fallout 3 and all those stupid things that happen there). Got R.U.S.E. yesterday and will be addicted some more. How am I supposed to draw with all those games around me?
But at least I did some face studies~ lips are still missing, though.

@Silwynar: Heyho! Schön zu sehen, dass du schon eine Weile hier bist. Wegen der Signatur: Können wir machen, bin nur grad in Eile, also kann ich meine Signatur erst später ändern.

@-D_art-: Thank you very much! Yeah, I'm trying to avoid dull faces with no expression. Looks boring. But in drawings from mind I'm still pretty bad at it.

Just throwing in a few studies and a guy with clothes from streetpeeper, I'm in a hurry~~~

you certenatly have what it takes!
Maybe you should get a "pocket" sketchbook and start drawing from life also?
or share the drawings if you do that already.

by the way, nice town you live in, i've been there a couple weeks ago when i was hitchiking around europe.lots of people doing stuff in the streets in the center! the cathedral is just gorgeous, sadly i did not find the time to draw it. i camped in some public garden near a very old building that i guess it was being squatted and there was also some wooden constructions nearby, for people to live in. awesome!

to bad it was raining almost all the time.. i was there for 3 days.

    keep drawing!

Werd mir Mühe geben Gerade gibts viel zu tun.

    @AndreRuben
I really need to do that, yes. I have several moleskine sketchbooks, but I don't use them to draw from life when I'm outside. I guess I'm too shy to draw in public. Hate it when people are watching.

Glad to hear that you like Cologne Yes, it's a nice city. Did you know the cathedral was completely white a long time ago? Would be awesome to see it without all the dirt...

    ---
Anyway, the promised male version of '25 studies' and some heads from imagination to see if I'm able to draw different types. Well, hm.
