Hello, everyone. I am a senior in high school working on video game concept art for my culminating high school project. One of the requirements for this graduation project is for me to speak to someone with someone experienced in creating concept art or someone associated with the game industry and have them give advice on my project. All I need is someone experienced to answer a few questions and a real name (can be pm'd if you prefer). Your name will NOT be used for any purpose outside of this project, I simply need a name to show you as a credible source and real person when presenting my project.
My deadline is the end of June 9th, 2010, so any replies before then are greatly appreciated. Just reply in this thread, email ([email protected]) or in a private message, and thank you for taking time out of your day to help me graduate.
Here are my questions:
What do you consider to be the 3 most important skills for a game concept artist?
How did you become a concept artist? (Schools, courses, extracurricular activities, etc.)
What challenges did/do you frequently face as a concept artist?
What is the average work day like for a concept artist?
Why did you choose concept art as a career?
How does it feel to complete concept art and watch as it is transformed into a 3D model?
What advice would you give to someone interested in becoming a professional concept artist?
And, finally, I need someone with more experience to look at my (far from perfect) concept art that I created for my senior project. I'm new to this website so I haven't uploaded it. It's all on my deviantart. All I need is a little bit of feedback and a couple pointers to show I learned something from someone experienced in the field.

Again, thank you very much for helping me complete this last graduation requirement.![]()
