    Unhappy Perspective drawing help for a beginner

    hi friends ....... i'm currently trying to understand the perspective and use them practically by drawing them .....i drew a simple box ( note that the height of the box is just an imagination ) in a plan and turn it to 3d using perspective method ......u can see the steps below ...... plezz point me out where i'm done wrong

    after that i drew a random object on the plan ( imagine the whole object has the same height )....u can see it below ......but i tried it four five times to make it 3D .....but i couldn't can some one show me how to do it ....i attached the photoshop file with this post

    You have the plan of your object in front of the picture plane, it should be behind it.

    hi mate thanx for the links..... but is that essential to keep the object behind the picture plane ? in my book in all examples the object is infront of the picture plane.....in that case visual rays hits the object and then we can make vertical lines using that

    the book i'm using currently is Basic perspective - Robert W-Gill

    if anyone has a tutorial for drawing the perspective of a pyramid object with the shadow plezz share it here..........coz i used the same principle in box drawing but i think the shadow is incorrect

    I needed a little exercise.

    This is what it would be like if it's a pyramid on a cube.

    I wasn't sure if the one corner of the cube shadow would stick out so I did it's "would have been" shadow in purple. The corner I was worried about is inside the larger shadow.

    Look up a book on perspective by Ernest Norling. Explains all that in a very accessible form.
