I'm not necessarily new to the site in terms of how long I've had the account, but I've only ever used it to peruse these fine premises. I've been making a lot of progress with my sketches, however, and have finally built up the courage to go out and buy a scanner so that I might open up shop in the Sketchbooks forum.
My biggest question, however, is the rules regarding Sketchbook content. I'm not talking about nudity or the like, but plagiarism and what might fall into its category. I spend a lot of my down time at work browsing the internet and drawing what cool pictures I find. Now, I have no intention of posting the actual art I found and saying that it is mine, but I would like to post the sketches I did.
Would this be a problem? I would, of course, give reference where it is due and make it abundantly clear when characters are not my own. The only reason I really bring this up is that flipping through my sketchbook I notice that a lot of it is sketches of other people's work (Sketching work that I admire is how I learn) and I want to be fully aware of the rules regarding IPs before I move forward.
Thanks.
