Came back to Joan of Arc as I didn't finish it for the final. It could probably do with a bit more tweaking really!
Found myself getting a little bored, decided to take a crack at an old CHOW, actually the First, Near Future Distopian “Urban Corsair”.
thought i might as well post it here.
EDIT: new one, Based on the "four Brothers" theme.
Final illustration added for "urban Corsair

This was for Lesser Demons challenge. I really wanted to paint something but run out of time and started this two hours before submissions were up.
He's a Jelly Bean demon, who makes you hungry for jelly beans, and then eat them till your jaw hurts. Initially I planned different setting for this, but there it is..

i really wanted to do the endless chow but i never had the time (and the mindset) to do it. then one boring afternoon, i decided to give it a try again. although i originally had delirium in mind, this is desire.
The NPC design, I have 2 characters left unfinished when the time is upHere's the complete Line up. I'm just glad I actually finished 16 characters in 3 days... LOL, I think I need to take a break...
Background Story:
Xinjing, meaning New Capital, is the capital city of Imperial China. After the old capital city Beijing become inhabitable because of the endless sand storm, the government decided to build a new capital city south of Beijing. The project took years to finish, the workers moving from all over the country to build the magnificent city. The workers quarter slowly became the "Old Town", and in the middle of the it, the Imperial Quarter stood. Including the Imperial Palace, government department complex, the financial district, and the West Lake Garden, the famous entertainment and shopping district.

I find it took me about 2 hours to finish one character~~~ LOL, Well, i know they're not really detailed rendering, but the point of this exercise is not rendering, but overall design, to create a feel of a city through characters... Well, I'm far away from my goal, but I think I had a good start.
Missed the deadline due to going in to labour early
so here's my carnival piece and a little pic of Oskar.
This is a great idea. I already have one for a past CHOW (revisit/missed) and one for a revision (which coincidentally is still going on.)
Saladin - he's a very iconic and amazing figure (character) from history. Often misunderstood and ill-informed about all his accomplishments and deeds.
#178 - Still in voting process, but I couldn't help but post a better version of it. I'm not so concerned about the voting. However I did want to fix a few things that I missed late at night - less frills, but easier to read.
Lots of great topics from the past.
Cheers
CHOW 178 Universal Monsters

I can never seem to finish on time so this is a great thing for me to actually take my time and do until I get better and faster! Thank you so much CHOW for giving us this opportunity!
Here is one where you were to turn yourself into a Villian with a power. I wish I could have the power to Shapeshift. May add a background later though!

Missed the Morrigan deadline.
Here she is.
I thought the deadline was Monday at midnight, not Monday at 5PM! So I missed the chance for my first entry into CHOW.
Here's my mystic gunslinger anyway, though.

Space saver!
In the mean time I've been using my sketchbook to post all of my WIPs for unfinnished CHoW's.
(None of them are finished at the moment so I can't post anything here yet. XD)
So glad this thread exists. I didn't get to revise my Cthulhu Mythos Cultist (CHOW 247) in time, so here he (it) is...

I never get any of them done in time. >_> This was for the Red Riding Hood CHoW, I don't remember what number it was...lol.
Revised version for the beastmaster topic. Added feathers in her hair and staff, a more interesting (though not by much) background, and some rim lighting. I like the way this turned out, though there were still a few other things I'd like to tweak here and there, but I can't work on this for forever.

Thank god for this thread. I am gonna try and finish all the chows.
Really felt like doing the female Sith Lord, and while working decided to do more of the old CHOWs.
Anyway, here's Darth Vyrscha

Here's a burnt falconer as an entry to the ChOW#299, a ghostly member of the royal court.
My choice was a falconer that died together with his bird in a fire.
I guess I wanted to do to much at once, and got lost somewhere.
I did the left one in color first, but wasnt content with the pose, so I worked it over and ended up with the one on the right, with more comic-style proportions (notice the falcon looking like a grilled chicken). I was still not satisfied and worked on some silhouettes, ending up with a more painful pose, resembling the burning of the character.
It was a fun challenge, and very interesting to research the costumes and the bird.
Great idea! I can finally post all of those images that I took way too long to finish.
