Aaack! I've been working a lot but neglecting my sketchbook like crazy. I'll have more to show soon, but for now, here's the pieces I did for Team Chow II. It was an absolute blast to work with these guys and surprising to see how well the finals seemed to fit together in the end. Looking forward to doing another one down the road.
If you haven't checked out the voting page to see all the great work the teams put in, it's right HERE. Voting is half the battlleeeeee.

those are some meticulous anatomy studies. I bow to your draftsmanship! I got to get back to some basics as well..... always room for improvement fosho foundation on up and back down again. Heres to endeavors of excellence!![]()
Yowza, pretty sweet shit in here, really nice digital paints, and those anatomy re-studies you did not too long ago are awesome, great stuff all around!
I say this to every one, but any chance on seeing more traditional work from you?
KEEP IT UP!
^ Lol at .gif. Anyway!
You've got some excellent pieces here, especially in your last post. But one thing to be careful about is where each extremity "lines up" with the same bodypart on the other side of the subject: just a quick example, the wolf in the final image there... His right ear seems to be higher up than his left (our right)... making his head seem a bit distorted.
Another thing is to get more references for your pics! The runner in the same image seems to be in an awkward sort of position, almost a bit rigid?? If you were to snap a photo of someone actually running like that, their hands might be in a different position to better suggest the flow of their body movement (if you sum up the body's movement and language in very few "major" lines, it might look a lot more powerful).
But you've got some incredible work here!Hope I can paint like this some day!! Love the "superior low-angle" shot of the female beast master.

BlightedArt- Thanks for taking the time to leave feedback. Those are definitely things I always need to keep in mind. Thanks for reminding me of them.
Hey all, sorry for the lack of posts. Been keeping pretty busy and haven't had much time for personal work. And what time I do have has been going towards a longer-term project. Some of that should be ready to show soon.
But anyway, the main point of this post is I decided to do a little giveaway of the download prizes I received for my part in the Team CHOW II competition. I figured I've bought a decent number of MB videos and have learned a ton from them and I don't mind throwing down $15/per for more of them since they've been so helpful and go towards supporting the community. So I figured the free DL's could be most helpful for those who are just starting out or on their way but have to deal w/ school tuition already or whatever else.
If you'd be interested in a free MB video download and have been working hard at your sketchbook, send me a PM (PM only please) with a link to your CA.org sketchbook.
Criteria, details:
1) You can't be working professionally in the entertainment industry already.
2) You need to have been showing diligence in your sketchbook (I should talk, right?). This means: frequent updates and signs that you are extremely interested in growing as an artist. Not going to be taking current skill level into consideration, just that you are putting forth the effort and accepting of feedback from your peers.
There are 4 downloads to give away... so 1 a piece for 4 different ca.org memberse.
With that said, send away! I'll take a look over all of the sketchbooks and aim for a final decision by next Monday, Oct. 25th. I'll contact the winning recipients at that time by PM.
Also, here's a couple of pieces I posted in the FF section, just so I'm not completely posting with no art =/

Just thought I would stop by and peruse the awesomeness of your sb... and I
must say your sb is quite inspiring.![]()
Then when I came across your last post I just had to post a comment.
Giving away your free downloads? That has to be one of the coolest things I've
seen in a long while! Your generosity is awesome man.
I would send you a pm with a link to my CA sb but I wouldn't want you to get
lost looking for it I think it is somewhere with Jimmy Hoffa's body and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon haha
Thanks for giving to the community though that is truly awesome.

amazing work man !
WOW
you are a generous mandingo indeed!
ive said it before but man i LUV these guys!
stay sweet!
I'd pm you in an instance, seeing as how I try to evolve all the time, and as I currently stand with $500 too little each month to make sure food is on table and rent is paid. But I am way to infrequent in my updates and I (try to) live off of illustrating and doing concepts...
Kudos for giving this to the community though.
As far as I understand, you are buying downloads for these four lucky guys/girls which is even more appreciable then "just" giving away stuff you got for free yourself...

Hey guys, thanks! I'm going to extend the deadline for sending in your sketchbook links until next Friday, because I've only received a couple of PMs so far (sometimes I forget how quickly the sketchbook section moves.. I think when I posted the giveaway initially, it was off the 1st page within an hour haha)
Also I'm going to make a little addendum to the criteria: if you're just getting started out freelancing and feel like you could use the techniques in the videos to further your business, feel free to send me your links too. I know how rough it is trying to live off of freelance wages when you're first getting started and trying to find contacts. Mostly was just trying to weed out anyone who's already at a studio gig and learning on the job day-to-day.
So yeah, next Thursday, the 29th is the new deadline!
Awesome stuff man!
I also want to participate, but everytime I want to send you a pm I get this error: "The string you entered for the image verification did not match what was displayed." Anyone can help me with that ?
Besides that, you are not only awesome but generous, I admire that![]()
One final bump just in case anyone else is interested. Deadline is this Thursday.. basically as long as it's Thursday somewhere in the world.
I probably won't have a chance to send out PMs to winners until after the weekend.. going to be busy with Halloween craziness.
arestocrat: that message just refers to the string of text you have to enter to prove you aren't a spam-bot, I think. I've received that error a few times when I either forgot to type the string, or typed it incorrectly. Give it another shot!
Hi Twitch this is a crazy sketchbook you have here! And just wanted to say I think this thing about you giving away MB download to hard working amateur artists is just awesome of you! I look forward to seeing more![]()
Hi Twitchfinger... your stuff in here is so great, really inspiring work... and you're a generous guy as well. A lot of good qualities... I hope you give us an update with some new work soon.
your work is ungodly!
Thanks for sharing your characters!Keep posting pencils!
