Smile Spuddytastic's sketchbook - I gotsta get better!

Hey, my name's Andrew and I want to get better at drawing, because I enjoy it a lot and I'd love to get a job that I actually enjoy, or at least don't hate.

I'm 15, Australian, and a guy, and I feel pretty weird about make a sketchbook because I don't usually like showing drawings to people. But I need constructive criticism, encouragement, etc. so I'm making one.

Here's some drawings I've done, to give you an idea of my ability when using references.

Without reference I'm pretty bad, I really want to get better at drawing from my mind. Any tips on how to get better? [Apart from practicing often. I'll do that, I just want other tips]

I need to sleep now, I'll post tommorow.

You should use softer pencils, too, so that you also have party in the drawing that are very dark and party that are light gray. And don't smear Better use tight pencil strokes to draw shadows. The last picture looks a bit traced (sorry if it isn't, don't want to accuse you of something you didn't so). Copying helps more than tracing!
Keep it up and you'll see that you'll improve fast

I didn't mean to smear, I should probably start putting a tissue under my hand when I draw again. Also, it looks better in real life, the scanner makes it look more smudged.

Haha, thanks. I didn't trace it, so I'm going to take that as a compliment

    Thanks for the advice!
