This sounds great. I'm not sure of the rules for this though. Should I draw only the equipment? If so should it be floating in space or could it be stored in a closet, or on a wall, etc. Can we put the equipment on a body? (for coolness and to show how it would be handled or carried).

Do we need to cover a specific range of classic horror monsters or can it be any of them so long as we explain? (so like if someone didn't want guns to be included in their design set could they skip the usual equipment necessary to kill werewolves?)

Thanks for the clarification, I'm looking forward to this.

NickTrip: The presentation of it is up to you, though since it's about the equipment I'd be carefull not to shift the focus to the character wearing it, for example. Using silhouettes rather than fully rendered people usually helps here.

Also, the gear can be specifically for the hunting of one monster, or can be generally so the hunter can be chasing a whole range of them, this is up to you as well.

Alive: I'm afraid that's not the kind of monster that's included in the topic, no.

I'm just wondering if it would be acceptable to use the Google sketch-up startup model for the silhouette?

Arfan: Yep, that's okay. Just don't use Sketch-up as a crutch, use it to aid and speed up your design sketching rather than build the whole design in 3D first up to the minute detail and then slap on some colors in PS afterwards is my advice.

Had to hava go- undead slaying gear, so far just a few weapons and tha like;- fending off and shooting gear.
I will most definitely add apparel such as EMF meter and Thermal goggles,
    Holy-water-pumpgun and anti-undead-viral pills (un-tan lotion?) etc...

The word ‘anarchy’ comes from the ancient Greek αναρχία in which αν meant ‘without’ and αρχία meant first a military ‘leader’ and then ‘ruler’. Anarchist society is one ‘without rulers’: a classless, non-hierarchical society.

lkjhgfdsa: Your chainsaw bayonet.. Brilliant! I like your rendering too... nice stuff.

xbert: I was thinking full combat suit also! Looks sweet so far, I'm really looking forward to seeing the progression.

lkjhgfdsa - Oh man, that's awesome. When I saw this topic I thought: "somebody is going to make guns and it will suck." I just didn't think guns had monsters associated with them, but I was wrong. I'm not sure what it is, maybe it is because the stripe texture, colors, and weirdly organic shapes make them look like monsters themselves, but they really look like monster hunter gear. Totally killer. I like the idea with the shop, but maybe you could take one gun and explore it further to make it the focus of your presentation. Keep the others in the background and least as reference to say: "look at all the cool shit I made." Right now they are all presented at the same distance and at the same angle, but it might add a helpful focal point the have someone pointing a gun. Nice!

Wow, I must have totally misinterpreted the brief. I thought "classical" set a technology limit. Was thinking Van Helsing (Hugh Jackman version) at best. But yeah if I had a choice I'd rather hunt a werewolf with a plasma cannon than a crossbow.

that suit is looking really nice man. and lkjhgfdsa, i think majenkus has some good thoughts.

ha, can i tell you all though how much f'd up shit i've come across in the first five minutes of researching weapons on the internet? i think the worst are the marketing videos from weapons manufacturers touting killing efficiency and increased damage possibilities for the "21st century." haha, seriously disturbing.

the idea of well-worn, very durable equipment - placed in those protective metal cases (where the equipment obviously doesn't need to be protected) made me laugh. so i had to sketch something up real quick..

my axe is far too cartoony, but i think i just wanted to play around with the idea

    Hey everyone.

Damn Ryan, same Idea I had lol. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with. :]

few quick ideas I had this afternoon. Hopefully will have time to make them into something...

My idea was of a suit of armor for immobilizing Golems (ones made of clay). covered in ceramic heating elements, the armor would reach extremely high temperatures, causing the clay of the golem to harden and stiffen. There by making movement difficult....I know that the temps involved are ridiculous for clay to harden as described, but still ....

    Awesome ideas wips guys.

Ryan DeMita: Cool to see you back in here I'm not in on this one I'm afraid, got some problems with my arms and wrist that keeps me from doing anything much really.

Everyone, finals thread will be up tomorrow. Was planning on doing it today but forgot I'm afraid.

Thanks Ryan, that means a lot. I expect Blowing them up would probably be alot more efficient in reality. ^^

xbert man I'm liking your suits, they look wicked. Specially the left one with the large gun!

lkjhgfdsa your guns look all kinds of mean. Specially the mp4.30 with the mahoosive chainsaw bayonet on the end. The stance or posture? of that weapon oozes carnage I think the 2 guns below the mac 10 (flamethrower and 'Bison12') loose some of that menace tho..In the case of the flamethrower I think its too complex? just my opinion though feel free to tell me to stfu lol.

    Looking forward to seeing finals!
