had ago with my markers today which i havnt used in awhile. it went wrong :<
i really need to practice more to get use to the mirror.![]()
your drawings have a nice "worked" feeling to them. seems your not afraid to make broad, quick statements. maybe work with graphite and don't be afraid to erase out and blend a bit, maybe spend more time. this will force you to look more and get used to the mirror. good stuff so far, keep it up =)
thanks virus! that's some good points you brought up. i think i will try spending a little more time on them and try and develop stuff abit more.
this time i had ago at digital one. i should have really sketch this before painting. instead i rushed into colour and form so quickly on this. everything got so distorted in this method. also i forgot to set colour proof before i started so some of the dark tones have gone now.![]()
Hey dude, actually that digital is pretty good! Nice lighting. Would love to see more from you!![]()
Hey man, I love your pencil style and then the digi was a great surprise. I look forward to seeing more of your stuff. Im gonna learn from you, I can tell.
thanks shamandalie. i'll try my best
thanks jigje. really want to work on alot more pencil stuff. im really not happy at my approach at the moment with it. ive got a few things that i want to try onces i get better at capturing a likeness. it should help me develop multiple styles i hope

used digital again. wanted to just get the likeness across without dealing with skin tone. i threw down a quick sketched before painting this time![]()
oh and i tried a different expression aswell.
So cool man. There's a new kid on the block. Woo hooo.
thanks jigje!

new angel, new expression and brushes that i made this morning. makes some interesting marks and shapes. was quite a fight to stop myself exploring abstract shapes and get back to trying to paint the portrait. XD

oh well........
good stuff man, keep rockin.
couldn't hurt to render the shirt/hoodie/etc that you have on from time to time as well, it's all bout life drawing, not just the portraits. =)
thanks virus! yeh i guess i was being a bit lazy there, will try to into render into more detail on my next few.

coulld only use letters from my name as brushes this time. i love arial font![]()
Hahaha, so cool.
thanks jigje. i was thinking of maybe doing another one of them at some point but see if i could do it being really economic with the brushes. it could iver work or go horrible wrong but hay i'll give it ago some time. xD

back in painter again today. did one only using real 2b pencil and just add water tools. the real pencil one doesn't really act like a real pencil but its still not a bad tool.

back in photoshop. new angle was interesting. had to stay quick again tho :/
Last two are my favorite, the last one especially man. I would love to see you spend a bunch of time on one, maybe that last one and refine it out. Well done Alex.
thanks jigje! on the weekend i normally have quite alot of my time taken up with work so its hard to get alot of art done. hence the quickness. might go back on one at some point tho.![]()

gona have to go back to traditional medias soon. need to improve my oil skills at some point:/
Trippy green, nice drawing though, good structure.
Oils are so tough, especially alla prima. They're a ton of fun though, definitely mess around with them!
lol trippy green. i didnt think of it that way.![]()
yeh oils can be really hard. its something that i have to learn. ive just to prime some boards so i might start tommorw if i have enough oil paint. haven't checked that yet >.<
