Inklings --- a place for ink drawings

A really wonderful collection and variety of ink works here! I adore the use of inks, but am not well practiced in them. I'm currently setting up my studio so I hope to remedy that very soon.

Krossj, I'm very fond of the work you've posted! The darks have rich depth, and the spindly, whispy, smokey lines that vein outwards form the main object are something I can't get enough of. I often strive for them in my own work.

This is kinda my first post here at CA even though I've been a member for a long time.. trying to start up new habits, so I thought I'd share an older ink piece until I can begin new ones.

Everytime I look at your pieces, I always get this sense of nostalgia out of them. They really are some personally charged pieces in my opinion. It's like I've gone back home to grunge town.

direct ink >> (no pencils etc. )


another direct ink >>,when i look at them now , i can find so many more errors like line weight and perspective

this one was also a direct ink no pencils etc. and then colored that character with regular color pencils (A3 size paper )
this one has some major anatomy and perspective issues when i see it now

these are very old actually (when i was 16-17 i think), haven't done much inking for a while now ....

the first one was done with a few different color ball point pens, the second one(green) she was done with 2 green pens and a black pen. the background was airbrush. im open to all comments, i would like to know what you think.

Hey hey. I loooove working in ink and have only just rediscovered it. I use a plastic brush pen (with a reservoir in the handle) which are ace but a little unpredictable, and have a tendency to block up if you leave the ink in them. Oh dear. Please feel free to crit, I'm my own worse critic so it would be nice to have some company. ...
