Hey there. My name is Daniel, I'm 22 years old (I think, I need people to remind me for some reason) and after lurking for a while I thought I would bite the bullet and get my own sketchbook going. I have no real goal other than to become good enough at art to make a career out of it, whatever that career may be

. So..some photoref studies to start off..

Might want to watch your feature placement, in particular those lips Viral Marketer mentioned and the neck of the first portrait.

I've certainly noticed that I struggle with lips in general. They're tricky.

Okay, after a visit to my family, I'm back infront of the computer and sketchbook! A body study, and a couple of speed paintings (though the warrior chick, I would like to continue with).

Been working on a couple of illustrations which I would really like to finish. I seem to have this annoying problem of making everything look tidy...Armour pieces and clothing don't look together, there's stray marks everywhere and cleaning them up at the end of a painting just creates even more mess (like, I can't seem to make the brush do what I want it to do..bizarre!). And while I'm at it, I seem to have a huge problem with making faces that don't look stupid! Frustrating..

Hmm, I'm struggling alot with this.

I have this huge problem where..I know how the form of an object should look and basically what I need to do to achieve it, but I can't for the life of me figure out how to make the tools I use do what I want. It's incredibly frustrating :/

Dave Mustaine yeah! Lucretia is an awesome song too. Anyway, as for the art, a pretty good start here, some good pencils and especially tones. Just keep working away at it!
