Well, your off to a good start and now... now i forbid you to ever stop! xD

Anyway as far as advice goes i suggest you pick up some books on anatomy and start to study them.. other then that i guess drawing from life a lot is a good tip.. hmm.. I'll come back when i think of something else.

Good work so far I'm looking forward to seeing how this sketchbook goes. It's a start on basic human figure, keep it up and you'll be great with some practice.

There are two thing that I have noticed:

    1) Line quality. You use way too many lines to describe something that can be described with a few. I see an improvement from your older work to the batch you have just uploaded, but there is still room for improvement. The poses from posemaniacs are a great way to practice this so keep doing those.

    2)
Face anatomy and construction. You need to study that. Loomis is a great teacher:
    http://acid.noobgrinder.com/Loomis/

One thing that is consistent is that you place the eyes too high up compared to the size of your head's skulls.

    Other than that, keep drawing!

Your drawings seem a little flat to me, I don't think you're really understanding the form of the person/object you trying to depict. Try to think of everything as solid and three dimensional. An easy way to do this is to clearly define the side planes of what you're drawing then wrapping some cross contours around them to show mass.

Based off of your pose maniac quick sketches, I feel like you may be missing the point of gesture drawing. You are focusing too hard on copying the figure by drawing the contours and it is stiffening up you drawings. Try to be loose with you're gestures. Don't worry about getting things exactly the same as the original pose, just focus on pushing the pose and giving the gesture as much life as possible.

I still struggle with pushing the pose in gesture drawing myself, it is tough but don't give up. I used to have the same exact problem as you do with gestures so it is pretty common, you just need to work on breaking your habit.

I hope this helps, good luck.

There's not much advice I can give that hasn't been said, just keep it up with the studies, you'll find yourself loosening up as you get more confident

And you're in Middlesbrough - Teesside uni by any chance?

Hey man, thanks for stopping by my sketchbook.

It looks like you've improved a lot just since the start of the page to the bottom, nice work! You're doing well with the Bridgman studies and such, do more of those. Just make sure that you understand the logic that the original illustrations are trying to convey. If you're simply copying them without understanding the point, your effort will be fruitless. It would be like copying the design of a math problem without understanding what any of it actually means, you know? Anyways, its just a tip. I cant tell you how many people I've seen in that crowd muddling around and trying to figure out why they don't improve. You're doing well so far, keep up the hard work, good luck!
