    Why So Sketchbook (2D/3D stuff)

Hi and thx for visiting my sketchbook.

I'm a student DAE where not only we learn the basics of concept art, but also 3D and programming.
I've been drawing for as long as I can remember, but I'm new to digital painting.
Plz look at my work and crit me (cuz I know I need it ) and help me improve

EDIT: moved old work to next post to change thread image.

@ Grafguy & maeshanne: i'll try to update as much as possible .

more stuff for my cartoony character and some information about his background:
he's a surgeon, but he's afraid to see blood so he does his surgeries blindfolded. And his hobby is karate .

    heya
    nice updates
dinkhead is looking good, one of the better characters ive seen so far (in DAE ofc)
one the model drawings your heads are to small to fit with the body, but the rest is good just keep in mind that in real life 99% of the heads are bigger then the boobs
    cheers

@Deodatus: thx for visiting, glad you like my work

Here's an attempt to draw more realistic, still a WIP though.
It should continue on to the other page with another character battling her
but i haven't yet had the time (and inspiration ) to finish it.

(sry for bad quality, need bigger scanner)

    Hi Gerre
Dr. Dinkhead is cool, I love his expressions.
For the last one, watch out for the legs and maybe you can let her fight against someone who is fighting with ice?
Hope to see the result soon and keep going, I'll check back later .

@Lyno: yeah I should restudy some human anatomy, cuz I still need to learn a lot. thx for the idea though

Here's the 'final' model of Dr Dinkhead; no rig & no textures (yet).
Should post more drawings and less 3D

    Heavy Weapons Girl

a female version of the heavy from tf2.
I've seen a lot of these on the internet and I decided to create a female team of my own .
I want to do the others as well. I'll probably paint them too.

Hi Gerre very nice SB. Your cartoon drawings are very clean but most of all i like your pose studies, but only thing i dont like is line on those studies. It seems that you draw many times over one line which makes it very thick nd doesn't give depth. I think you should try to do contuors in one move. Keep posting

@Lyno: thx, I'll try to do them as soon as I can.
@My57: glad you like it, it's my first. The materials could've been done better, but I guess it's allright .
@Stevan: hi and thx for your comment! If you mean those poses from life, they had to be done very fast.
I should practice drawing under timepressure.

Some studies (mostly Loomis, the crappy ones are mine ) and a study from ref.

nice sketchbook work. i like dr.dinkhead you can really get a feel for his character through your sketches. i think getting maybe some darker lines within the shading could give it a bit more depth.
    kepp up the good work!

    @dogsbrother: thx that means I've improved ^^
@Bambi 09: great that you can feel his character. That's the most important thing
about a cartoony character design imo. and thx for the tip

Here's another photoreffed study (Adriana Lima)
Had to fix my sketch a bit in photoshop cuz her face was all wrong

its to stylized if you where focusing on realism. So practise faces more if you want realism.

Realism is a real pain in the for me, no matter how hard I try
I guess I'll just have to practice more

@Stile: thx, but I actually don't know if my shading technique is correct
Practicing different tones and following the form while crosshatching ought to do the trick

Here's a sketch for a school painting compo called 'bad santa', but I didn't finish it
    Oh well
