Thanks, I'm so glad that I got to know Loomis in this forum!
I bought the "figures in action" book yesterday.

    Here some new things.

Guuut Johanna!

I'm working on a new acryl-colors-on-canvas picture for school.
It has to be a mixture between a painting by Caspar David Friedrich and one by Rene Magritte.
    I chose these two:
Der Wanderer über dem Nebelmeer (C.D.Friedrich)
    and
    Pandora's Box (?) (René Magritte)

and after ca 2 hours my painting looks like this: (bad picture)

and I can't draw self-portraits! It always looks like a little child or a man

I shouldn't be so impatient with drawing hair.. grrr

The last one has areally cute style going on, and it's quite the cutie of a sketch, but...
I have to wonder... What is the purpose? To get a cute image drawn? A study of facial proportions? Shapes of the face?
It's a little hard to tell what was it drawn for, which implies that it was just "doodled"... If it's meant to be a study you should have a clear target of what you want out of it - and if you succeed in indulging in this, it will also be clear to the viewer what was the person who drew the picture thinking and doing and hoping to achieve/achieving... instead of just being something that was drawn for the sake of drawing.
(...and it can still be a real cute drawing too.)

Maybe that's a little abstact... eh.

yea, I think it was indeed just "doodled". Didn't think of anything special. But I can actually see your point, and thanks for that comment!
I think I just want to draw as much as I can at the moment, and always studies are a bit exhausting somehow..

But I also thought it would be kind of challenge to draw this 'puss' (haha silly word), because I have my problems with drawing mouths.

Ah maybe you're right and I should focus more on the effect that a picture or study should have, otherwise I have always the same style and just copy photos. Should draw more 'from life'-things. And not always faces.

I have a lot of work to do, glad I have holidays since yesterday

    HELP!

I have so many problems with the proportions.. can do all these funny studies, but I seem not to understand it properly...
Yeah, I know, draw, draw, draw, those mannekins and so on.
    It's frustrating.

But I've realized that I like the ball-pen more than pencils, although it is a bit more difficult for me (not having the possibility of erasing..).

And my sketchbook is so boring, I think I have to try other medias when I've finished school in March.

    Well, some wimpy doodles:

    hey
i think the poses in your last post look really really good!
    keep that stuff up.
drawing can be frustrating but dont give up
using another tool then the pencil, like you do, is a good way to work on your line quality

Great studys Ploepp, you've shown clear progress even on page one, and your line quality while drawing is defiantly improving.
    Keep working at it

    Schönes sketchbook
    Was ist neu in Deutschland?

Hey, anyway I know English much better, so I want to say something about your sketchbook. It is not great of course, cause you have to practice a lot and you have to put a lot of your free time to make things better. I hope that you will not give up from your daily drawings and that on the 6th sketcbook page you will throw out superb stuff. I believe in you.

    Thanks a lot, LtPlissken!
    Natürlich verstehe ich dich

You are absolutely right, i really have to spend more time with drawing. I'm very unmotivated the last time, don't have a clear aim, that's not really good. I need someone to kick my ass
if i need so much time for a page 3, 4 or even 6,as i needed for two pages, then i can't improve much. So I have to start NOW and get some more pages! Maybe I have to kick my own ass, might be difficult, but possible.

    Thanks again.

I doodled a bit today, but nothing that is worth to be posted.
