LOL.... no, no snag at this end. I have about 30 others sculptures, I am currently working on. The Thor model is in the top 5 of my list to complete this summer.

Attach you will find the latest work completed on the Thor piece... I removed his legs and arms to insert additional support. As you can see by the images 1/4" aluminum rods were inserted into the legs in order to hold the pose. Once I reattach the legs to the torso, I will tweak his pose.

If you wish to watch me sculpt Thor, live via the webcam, you can tune in on certain days, I have allocated sculpt themes as follows...

Monday:koi related sculptures
Tuesday:dog related sculptures
Wednesday:wildlife related sculptures
Thursday:human related sculptures
Friday:dog/cat/horse related sculptures
Saturday:wildlife sculptures
Sunday:open topic

therefore, Thursdays and possibly Sundays are allocated for Thor. The gorilla I am working on is almost complete;therefore, I will use the wildlife day for Thor as well...

LOL.... to answer your question,

I've been sculpting in one form or another for over 30 years. Many of my pieces I produce just for the practice, some are started because I get bored with the current project, but others are commissions; therefore, I must pump out.

Today, I worked on Thor's right leg. Tomorrow I will work on the left...

The leg is still in its rough stages, I was just looking for the correct proportions.

My only comment/critic is about the teeth. They look a bit too square and uniform. Other than that... fantastic job!

I really like your idea; I will definitely look into it... I just might engrave the verse... "þur uiki þisi kuml" on the side of the hammer. Moreover, I will call the piece... "May Thor Hallow this memorial"

Thanks to your link, I was able to find out what Mjolnir means "crusher," referring to its pulverizing effect... now if I could only learn how to pronounce it... LOL

As of July 7, 2008 this is what I have...

The Thor sculpture is too large to manage; therefore, I cut it in half for now. I will use the top of his loincloth (still not sculptured) as the dividing line.
