player 1 (attacker = alti): potent magics
A- you have batteled many to get to where you are and it shows, you bear the trophies and relics of war, dark flowing cloaks set you appart as a battle mage, blistering with power you can defeat a sword with a word. you can kill with the melign sentances you study. you live in the dark places of your mind and come out only when called to action. they come for you now.
B- you breath deep as your eyes white over, slouching down to hold in the power for afew more precious seconds, then the ether quakes as something in you awakens, slowly you rise above the carnage of the charge you toes inches above the heads of the troops, the sun turns a deathly red as you swoop at your foes.

player 2 (defender = yoitisi) : limitations of the flesh
A - metal is your skin, oil is your raw blood, the magics suited to slay mear men dent your plated chest as you heave through the masses. your hands as gargantuan clawed things buzz and crackle with their own energies, your mind forgets what it was to be a man, you are finaly free.
B - gears grind, flame scolds as the engin begins to rumble to life, your clockwork mind ticks over slowly, as you begin to stand chains and clamps snap like loose string. you are awake and it is time to fight for your masters.

I think I'm going to play around a bit with different approaches this time. Feel free to use my older characters to humiliate though -although this topic doesn't require you to put in the other persons character I guess.

Thought I'd post a WIP. The topic is a lot more difficult than I expected...



I've got the feeling I'm going to lose my head over this one, as I'm totally not liking it at the moment. I started out with a black silhouette sketch but in all of the next steps I struggled with the anatomy and composition..bleh needs more work I guess. Still like a full day to go.

Anyway, here's my final. Not entirely happy with it this time, but since I'm a bit low on time I decided to go ahead with the initial idea anyway.

yeah, sorry , still not happy with this one, and i got no more time.

Alti: Shall we call it done and ready for judging then? Would've liked to see it developed a bit further, as I like the idea here. What if you'd uppen the contrast all the way so it appears darker overall? Right now it's all very gray on my monitor.

i think that would be the best idea, but Alti if you could find the time to finish this would be a very cool illustration but yeh i agree with yoitisi about the contrast.

Oh and i have a question for Yoitisi if you dont mind the time. ˆwas just wondering how often do you draw? and how do you stay focused?. I Draw everyday as much as i can, but i find i get distracted and tend to spend more time staring at the paper then actually getting drawing done, and when i do draw it always seems to be just sketches and sometimes i'll get a fully rendered drawing but thats if i can find the focus and determination.. I just don't know how to make art more constant and fluid in my life, my sketchbook travels everywere with me, but sometimes it takes me forever to take my sketches to the next level. i just need some advice to get things movin.

Lininger: Hmm lets see, the answer to that is actually pretty difficult. I am rather irregular when it comes to drawing. Lately, I draw almost everyday as I started to see through my own excuses not to draw. I've been a bit lazy for years I'm afraid. To stay focused it helps to have fun with what you do. If I don't like working on something I have to finish I often drag my feet until there is just enough time left, something I'm trying to work on with varying success Doing just sketches is fine, but you might just want to try to render the heck out of something once in a while, as you'll learn from that too (even and probably most of all if you mess it up completely - experiencing what not to do is good too). Also, I found that there were certain periods in my life in which I didn't draw very much, but after that I found I'd actually learned a few things without ever drawing them. I guess looking around and using your eyes and mind while not holding a pencil is important too. Hope that helps you somewhat
