Mr Mu .... i think - collages, alienation, matte painting is what i'm talking about

and maybe its too soon to make challenge out of it
so just an workshop will do

i whant to know what everybody else thinks about this ...

My suggestion: let's get going!

As you might know we had a nice set of workshops on specific topics already (some of which had more participation than others, but what the hey!)
So, what you could do: dig up the last open workshop thread (for example by following purpleroses link in her sig if it still exists - or you search for it with the keyword workshop), copy the rules, and create a follow-up workshop thread on one specific manipulation topic.

I suggest deciding on one for two reasons:

- better focus, easier task, more participation

- noone's stopping us from taking the tasks on one-by-one in several workshops


I remember a matte painting challenge in cgsociety's daily sketch forum that was a lot of fun... maybe you even introduce a specific topic for the technique... like:

- photomanipulation [collage]: "the tell tale heart"

- photomanipulation [alienation]: "my totem me"

or something like this.

Not sure if I'm sposed to post the link or not as its still work in progress, looks like some of the sections need cross referencing etc with this one. I'll get the all clear from davi when I see him in the chatroom next.

Looks like there will be a seperate challenge forum, like CHOW COW has now etc
Also a mentor section where workshops etc can be put

Perhaps we could have the current 2 weekly challenge going like now and then a monthly manipulation challenge running along side it or soemthing. Though personally I'm all for anything goes and state with your entry what you have done camp.

Then there are the usual seperate photo topic sections that you see on most photo forums for posting your pics, landscape, portraits, animals etc Few more bits and pieces that you will see when its live.

Actually I am, too.
But as there are other people around who feel there should be limits I am all for meeting halfway - it's like "if I am easy enough to allow manipulation I am also easy enough to just do without if it helps to get things going....", you know?

of course there is nothing stopping anyone sneaking in a manipulated image anyway, how is anyone going to know?

its like the case of legalising certain drugs to some extent

I'm sure the situation will resolve itself nicely in the end
