I like to get some critique and pointers to improve this piece. It's in the sketching fase for now.
I'm aiming for a character with muscular proportions sitting on a pillar of bricks (pillar not drawn yet), not sure yet about the background.

I like your drawing and your linework is quite strong. It looks to me though that the left arm is a bit too far detached from the body and her face looks a bit flat ( it might be her eyes that are giving that illusion). Hope this helps. Keep it up the piece looks good
Thanks for the C&C so far, englishduke. I don't know at the moment what I should do with the eyes, I'll look later how to change or if someone else has a suggestion?
I changed some things like her arms and started on working on the crumbled pilars. Next step will be refining the lineart and darking it a little more with pencil.
The eyes aren't on the same plane. Head seems a bit flat on top... needs more skull.
I agree on the head being flat... she needs more of a forehead, and her facial features need to be more proportional and/or on the same plane.
Also - her hands are a little small, and the fingers are a bit small/short. I like the legs and feet, though, and your perspective work is good.
I adjusted her for head a bit and her eyes are less flattened, I think it's okay for now. Her fingers seems to be short maybe because of the gloves that covers a littler further on the finger.
Reworked pencil lines with darker pencils (B and some B4), going to color it ASAP.
Your picture is looking a lot better and you have made good progress with her face. Perhaps when you color this peice it will take out some of the confusion with her right arm and stomach. It isn't very clear at first they sort of blend together. Good peice so far. good luck with coloring it.
Thanks Duke.
Added some colors that are for highlights, thus it will be a bit darker afterwards. Background pilars will fade away a bit due to horizon foggyness and there will be some clouds in the deep background.
I'm only not realy sure about her left arm, I used photo reference for this pose where the person bends her left arm more then in de drawing, I adjusted it in my drawing because of the heels that higher the whole leg. And the reference had no heels. So, is the adjustment acceptable?
I'm working as much as possible on this piece, it's only getting slow because I have little time and other projects to create, even though I have to face a strict deadline for this one as well. Oh well, i'm still positive.
I've never worked or fooled around with custom brushes before, here's the result for the background.
...and it's done! Probably the most time spended CG work of mine to date.![]()
