My Sketch Book!
I would say the piece that is the strongest of your pictures is your first piece and the piece with the girls back facing us. I definitely like your uses of positive and negative space with each of your pieces.
A lot of your work needs help with anatomy though, don't get me wrong, I know most of your pieces are more stylized. Like I suggest to many, you should take up life drawing classes.
Many of your pieces have a limited color pallet, which there isn't anything wrong with a limited amount of color but you should experiment more with it. I would like to see more rendered pieces from you as well.
it's a sketchbook....

the paintings are 56"x95"
acrylic, gesso, latex on unstretched canvas

sorry for the poor image quality (color and lighting), had to check out a pathetic digital camera.
this year's student exhibition
pretty pumped, my painting Battle of the Sexes sold.
here's some pics.
ugh... college is kicking my ass, haven't had time to spend in my sketchbook in days (nonetheless sleeping and eating)
chair dissection project pic
doodles from today
ink on paper, scanned, cleaned in photoshop, colored in opencanvas, then digital kung-fu in photoshop again.
out of ink, pencil work for me today.
keepin' it loose trying to have fun with confident linework.
using models from j-list products as reference.
Um, your pencils, awesome.
Not the biggest fan of anime-style art, but you do well at it.

did some laundry, drew this pic while waiting.
it was about 90 degrees today, and must have been triple digits in the laundromat.
i think i was the only engligh speaking person in the room, and two middle aged rough looking mexicans kept glancing over to watch me draw and smiling.
girls-in-underwear is the universal language for men.
angle was weird on the reference photo, so my anatomy looks off, and i was too sweaty and hot to refine my measuring.
Really like DANGER2, great image, a few anatomy probs with some of the images but you know thatwhich is half the battle won. 'Battle of the Sexes' really like this as well, not suprised it sold.
really like the progress

My Sketch Book!
danger is based off a johnny balls photo. which i later referenced a second time for a painting.
i haven't had time to draw with any real focus in a long time ._.Originally Posted by RaistlinTheDark

blah, made a thumbnail collage of some of my pics for my website:

very nice graphic style you have.. I really do like it.. and I agree with you on what you said on my critique.. cool stuff
haha mahn, i love your stuff, very unique, is that your work on the walls in the museum?
Coo
Not really keen on anime-like style but I like your designs alot, also those "posterized" drawings look nice.
Anyway keep it up!

museum? that's a crappy college "gallery" (two corner walls in between a bookstore and a food court)
and yeah those are my paintings, all of which based on photographs of internet models, of which i did not take.
the other exhibit was the art department student art show, nothing too spectacular, only got two pieces in (the 9 panel painting of my hands and a trash can named 'abortion eater' as a joke, which accidentally got in)
well let's not make this a pointless post: here's my show card
let's hit the streets suckas'
....no one is on the streets... what a dead campus.
anyway, vandalism is a crime kids, that means be safe about your art choices... (and have a friend as lookout)
are those big paintings from Girl Expo printouts?
I recognise one of those photos, it's pretty popular on dA

lol i love that you did that lil act of vandalism. is it still there?
the ones in the college art gallery... you called them paintings... if you dont mind me asking... what medium did you use?
yep. all images from that show are erotic/sensual/pornographic images from the internet.
they are paintings based on sketches of layers i drew (referencing the photos)
i emailed all of the photographers about using their work as reference, none of them have replied... so none of the paintings are for sale until i get a response giving me the 'okay' to sell an emulation of their respective work.
yeah its still 'on display'.... i guess it's not really vandalism when you have permission and it's a requirement for a project. it's duct-tape, so it's removable. i won't bore you with the assignment and social statement about the piece, it's not finished ( it has been raining this weekend, preventing me from completing it, but hey it's holding up to the rain like a champ!)Originally Posted by ped454

i made sure all of the ingrediants were archival safe and water soluable so they would mix together without any problems in the long run. it may sound nontraditional, but they combined surprisingly well and allowed me to cover vast areas of canvas with minimal supplies (whereas i would have gone through dozens of tubes of acyric if i used them alone)

so thats ductape, how did you go about doing that, did you have it all planded out and precut, or have it in your head and just attack the sidewalk with the whole roll of tape?
you're style is definitely somewhat unique and amazing at the same time... im in awe. keep it up.
Like everyone has been saying, you have a neat graphic style.
It looks like you're being too hasty with your pencil works though, and it's giving them that blocky look. Start off laying down some lighter shades and then work the darker values in and blend them with your pencil, not your fingers.
One thing that was suggested to me to help me learn values is copying a masters work in black and white. If you check out my sketchbook you'll see the one I did as an example.
Look forward to seeing more from you![]()
been awhile since i've posted anything.
ive hated my work as of late, and havent had the time to devote serious attention to raising it to a higher degree of personal satisfaction.
i need to stop using photoshop, i sense too many visual gimmicks in my work.
also, i finally bought a Wacom tablet, so i included some experimental images i create dusing it for the first time.
anyway here's some doodles i thought i'd share:
leave some lovin'

Ps- the last image is a self portrait, thats actually my skinny emo-ass posing in that knee-torture position.
nice style !
tired as hell but forced myself to do some personal design work last night.
it doesnt make any real sense, nor is it good typography that communicates a message. i just wanted to have some fun, which is something i havent been having in my school projects.
