[QUOTE=habu;1311022]A quick one before bed. I like the idea of the progression of 16-1700's technology in a modern setting. But it's only the second time I've used a painter program, and the perpective on the rear leg is jacked up...and I need to get a tablet, this mouse sucks!

Nice work.
I found this one pretty hard.
My pic is not really working but here it is anyway.

First digital entry!
1.5hrs I think, PS, done with mouse.
Crits much appreciated.
btw; which format do you usually use, jpeg?
k4j: love your background and the walker, how did you make its shadow?
Mitze; nice textures, how did you get the clouds like that?

When I was young, I could do all-nighters in my sleep.
Here's my go.. this guy shoots it's own larvae at intruders.
Sorry about the weird shape of the image, it was drawn on the corner of the page.
I got kind of bored with this one..
Basic concept sketch of mech

Hi guys!
fairly happy about how this one turned out.. but please tell me if it´s too dark to notice what´s going on, ´cause I work on a fairly bright screen settings...![]()
- My Sketchthread -
k4j - I love Your submission
Glottis - it looks good on my screen, but it's also rather bright
I'm not happy about mine yet, but will not have time to finish:

Awesome topic but I have so little time. I peeled off a quickie and I have to apologize to my friends and family but I used a lens filter in it. please forgive me, I will not sin again
.
Cool stuff guys
Quickie...and by quickie I mean I stayed within the suggested 90 minutes. Well maybe.

remeber the tripods.
How long before we see this master piece remixed by holywood.
3one - Nice graphic quality. Not much action, but interesting perspective. With the shift in the shoulders from the reach up to the wire, it seems like we'd be able to see its left arm as well, perhaps?
dagreengo - Again -- not much action, but good perspective. The rain is a real nice touch. Although the dim colours work well for the buildings and the sky, the lights in the windows and on the bot should be higher contrast (and maybe different hues between building and bot). I think the frog-like legs read very well.
Mitze - Despite it's shortcomings, there're some real nice details in this one. I think the bot itself might've been improved by the inclusion of elbow joints... I'm also thinking that this could've benefited from cranking out a few quick thumbnails to flesh out the composition so you didn't have to fumble through it while painting?
Good effort, nonetheless!
k4j - A very ambitious pic with a lot of action. There's a good narrative going on. Perhaps the biggest problem with this pic is that the turret bot should be much larger/closer to us, and in a perspective that's more headed our way.
goran - "loose cannon" -- cute. GREAT! Cool, humorous, well-realized bot... Great sense of hang time... Excellent perspective... This would be a fun character to play in a game. Nicely done.
zionviller - There's a pleasing aesthetic in the drawing style, and the larva-bullet concept is good, but the lack of perspective in the bot is really killing it.
Hamsta - The action implied in each of these bots is palpable... They animate themselves, and the eye goes round and round. The lower-most bot could use a shadow. It'd be nice to see this taken to another level of finish.
AlphaDMF - There's some good suggested form and action, but this is too sketchy. Put more time into it, and really try to peer through the windows you've created.
Glottis - Yes: Too dark. After brightening it and upping the contrast in PS, I see that there's a good sense of atmospheric perspective... good composition... nice sense of motion to the leaping bots. Not so sure how I feel about the extreme camera tilt, though.
SOUTHERN - Some cool stuff going on with the bot, so you get to slide on the flare. The lens flare actually works well behind the bot -- feels appropriate -- but the one on the gun just seems weird to me, and therein lies your infraction.
silentbrain - AAAAahhh... Nicely played, sir.Great form on the bot, cool design, great perspective, that's a leap if ever I saw one, and those streetlights are exquisite and totally make the pic.
Bit late but couldnt let it pass.
