Sucks to be a vet in that town. The crazy thing is that they dont want to seem to get near the thing to get the persons forarm back. Its all pale looking and not even bleeding anymore.

They did, one of the employees scared the croc with gunfire so he let go of the arm. The severed arm was rushed to the hospital where they managed to attach it again, lucky bastard hehe.

He had shot the croc with a tranquilizer dart, and thought that the croc was out. The vet soon found out the croc wasn't as tranquilized as he thought when he went to pull the dart out.

That's just what I was thinking. The vet's incredibly lucky that they were able to retrieve and reattach his arm.

wow. I'm surprised they were able to retrieve it because it doesn't look like it would take that much effort on the croc's part to just wolf it down given the size of his head by comparison.

Is it possible that the reason the croc didn't gulp the hand down is because the bite was meant as a defensive gesture, instead of being motivated by hunger?

The alligators that were sunning themselves in my backyard this afternoon definately creep me out after looking at these pictures. I'll think twice now every time I have to walk near them when they're out there.

What I find really interesting is that the hand is still in a semi fist. I would've pictured a completely limp hand by now but perhaps the teeth are actually clenching the muscles tight enough to keep a bit of tension from the initial reaction from the vet.
