So this is my first attempt at a sketchbook. I'm a longtime lurker and very very shy about my drawings but my wife convinced me to post here. Hope yas enjoy and please be very liberal with the critiques..god knows I need em.

A bit about me..I'm 25 currently in NYC with my wife and 11 month old daughter.I'm a recent vet with a couple of years having been spent in Iraq. I'm working wherever I can a the moment and hopefully can inish up a criminal justie degree and do something with that soon.

Anyways I don't have any type of art school under my belt and am just hoping to improve on my own and through studying the work of others.


So not too impressive a representation of my sketchbook so far. As soon as I dig out my scanner I'll post more (recent) pics and studies.

by the way its all on paper...no digital media for me quite yet.

really nice... you should have post earlier... and btw you don't have to be ashamed of your drawings.... i mean you don't have to be shy... you must be proud of whatever you do (that it is creative)....

No need to be shy. Some of the images aren't perfect, to they have a really fun feel to them, and the inks seem to 'flow' very nicely.

The superman seems abit bizarre to me, abit small - but maybe it could be smallville.

Yeah, just keep working. I can see a personal style in your pictures, now you should focus on anatomy, you'll find much advice in this forum so have a look at some threads. If you believe in your work and practice hard you'll see improvement very soon.
