thanx to Teknoholic! JakkaS and me got inspired by his suggestion "undead" to come up with that interesting topic in my eyes.

ADDITIONAL INFO
Usually spirits, ethereal creatures are problematic in COW. But this time it is allowed.

Just keep in mind:
No shapeless creatures like random shadows or humanoid demons etc
We need a creature with a clear anatomy and design.
Stick to the species rule and think of an undead creature which lives in icy worlds.

Dunno if i forgot something, but i think that might be a nice challenge and twist for our brain juices

damn! having lived in Alaska and having actually been one of the Arctic Undead (following an out-of-control encounter with many shots of Cuervo Gold), this is right up my alley, but i have heaping plateful of EOW i have to finish and don't think i can do them both justice. just have to sit back and enjoy you folks tackling it. bueno suerte, amigos!

Arctic Corpse Fish - WIP

Been travelling a fair amount lately and haven't got my act together enough to COW.

Struggled with this one, finally came up with the Arctic Corpse Fish.

Exhausted by competitive mating rituals, the male dies shortly after ejecting its milt over a cloud of unfertilised eggs laid by the smaller female. However, before dying it swallows the now fertilised eggs, which are protected from digestion by a mucous membrane.

Using piercing probes, the tips of which are packed with ganglia, the female penetrates the dead body of the male and hooks into its nervous system. This allows her to control the bouyancy and basic motor functions of the male for a short period, sufficient for it to be steered to a place of relative safety. Here the eggs hatch and develop, devouring the body of the parent until they are mature enough to fend for themselves.

Tried to come up with an undead concept that is evolutionary rather than magical/spriritual or one that relies on third party intervention. Hope it fits the brief.

Now I just need to make a half decent job of painting it.
